F-16 didn't fight any worthy opponents. Their losses were heaviest in first Gulf war. 3 F-16 were lost in that war to SAM.

How many? Maybe 100 MiG-21. Doesn't mean much. F-16 never went up against MiG-29 one on one.

A Russian intel plane was shot down in Syria.

While Russians have been in Syria, Israel has attacked Syria with impunity. Even if there has been no air combat, it still raises questions on why Russia has not been able or has been unwilling, to safeguard Syrian airspace.

It was shot down by Syrian Air defense forces s200 which were targeting an Israeli plane and by mistake hit the Russian plane.
Russia is not soviet union. It is an isolated effort of one nation to safeguard Syrian Government from collapse which it has done perfectly. Russia have no hostility with Israel, neither have Israel targeted Russia. Israel claims it only targets Irani Forces stationed in Syria which it claims are a national security threat to Israel. So Far Israel have not Targeted any Government Establishment anywhere in Syria, only Military installations where Israel Claims were Irani Forces, neither they have shown any posture of Land invasion. Plus don't see Israel with the eye of a Muslim. Russia is not a Muslim country it does not hate Israel. It Natanyahu have gone 10s of times to Russia to take Putin in confidence.
If it was not for Russia Damascus Government would have fallen just like Libya. Russia is just a European Country with 50 billion dollar defense budget equivalent to Saudi Arabia India and France., And in these limited resources it can eat any country armed forces any day except USA and China that have 10s of times economy and Defense Budget.
Show me a single country that can Face NATO like Russia just did in Ukrainian and Syria. While we can taunt and degrade Russia only while our Government sit like Pussies in their capitals not even defying a single word coming out of Washington Alliance.
