Miftah vs Dar: Pakistan in economic turmoil due to Ishaq Dar wrong economic policies.

.
It's puzzling why they replaced a smart economist with an accountant with no background in macroeconomics. Miftah has a Ph.D. in macroeconomics from Wharton school and has worked in IMF. Dar has a B. Com degree and accountant license. This is like when the Titanic has sighted the iceberg you replace the man at the helm with a guy who watches the gauge for proper steam pressure and ensures proper amount of water and coal are fed to the boilers.

"Mufta Izraeel" and "Isaac the Dollar Khor" both are patent Kanjars. Former is "saada", while later is "roghni".

The textile industry gave 72 hours to release their 25 billion rupee refunds by FBR to cover expenses. Otherwise ..... and Dar obsession of controlling the dollar...

Looks like investors are turning to gold to protect their wealth.

Gold price soars by Rs2,200 per tola, hits all-time high

Indus Motors shuts down production plant in Pakistan on delay in import approvals

"Delay in the approvals for the company and vendors has created hurdles in the import and clearance of consignments for raw materials," company says.
In the current economic condition, private vehicle production, using largely imported inputs, is probably a low priority item. As a bonus, this may also cut down on usage of imported fuel. But it will lead to unemployment for all the auto workers which is bad.

Why is it puzzling?
If you were ever exposed to Pakistani culture then you would know that personal relationships especially those that profit oneself today are infinitely more important than anything to do with the greater good or the future.

.
I have been saying this from the beginning that Miftah with all his faults is much better than Dar- but patwaris have a love relation with him for some reason.

But these are not ordinary times for fun and games. The economy is severely contracting, liquidity is almost zero, there is political turmoil, terrorism is rising its ugly head again and they want a gang of nincompoops to sail this ship of state through the Bermuda triangle. Sri Lanka 2.0 looks like a holiday compared to what may be coming. It is looking like Pakistan is on the way to Lebanon 2.0.

Again - let’s reiterate what I said.
If I am aware that it takes a massive effort and general unpopularity to achieve the required results which gets ME no profit TODAY. Then I will reap my today and use it to survive MY future regardless of whether I destroy the future of everyone else

That is the national creed
