Microsoft Flight Simulator - E3 2019 - Announce Trailer

.
Suprised to see this. Microsoft has abandoned the PC version. So, this is Xbox Scarlet only..

if you are true flight sim fan, then it is still DCS World, XPlane 11, or prepare3d !!

Nah brother that is what I thought too at first, turns out they were only marketing this through xbox. The initial release will be a PC version and there *might* be a console version later (highly doubt it though).

that looks stunning !

what, no PC version ? :o:

how the hell can one properly sim on a console... smh. Just a beautiful looking flying game then, not a real sim.

still rocking teh good old FSX here, looks pretty enough with the ORBX sceneries, and DCS, Rise of Flight, IL - 2 Strumovik (both stalingrad and dover). Wings of prey is also a fun flight game.

and in other gaming news, Cyberpunk 2077 is open for pre purchase on steam for an April 2020 release lol

This is from the press release:
Microsoft Flight Simulator (Xbox One And Windows 10 PC)
The next generation of our longest-running franchise, Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to Windows 10 with Xbox Game Pass in 2020, and coming to Xbox One at a later date. Microsoft Flight Simulator is specifically designed to celebrate flight simulation fans through a focus on the authenticity of flying and visually stunning environments. By revamping our tech, working in close collaboration with the community and pursuing the best partnerships across the industry, we intend to deliver the best-in-class flight simulation experience.

Nice 1

what are you using for scenery, landclass and mesh etc ?

also, where can I get that Gilgit airport and what Mirage is that, full cockpit etc ? I have the Aerosoft and Iris versions of the F-16s, good fun but not super serious study ones. Study sims can be a real headache, i got the PMDG 737 and DCS A-10C. the only 2 I spend some serious time studying and learning the systems. Haven't simmed much lately unfortunately as I've been mostly away from my main rig these past couple years.

Hopefully it won't be such a resource hog as FSX was, flying around Seattle with decent amount of air and ground traffic probably still brings to it's knees anything, including a 10k USD rig lol

I use Photo-real Google Imagery for most of Pakistan and ORBX for the rest of the world. You can find quite a number of Pakistani Airports including Rahim Yar Khan, Nur Khan, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, Jinnah Intl, Allama Iqbal Intl and Gilgit as good quality payware sceneries over at simmarket here:

https://secure.simmarket.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=Pakistan

Keywords: Pakistan or MSK.

As for the Mirages yes they have a fully functioning 3D Cockpit with different modeled ones for each variant. Aerosoft and IRIS are the tip of the Iceberg. I've got Mirage III/V Single/Dual seater both. Mig-21F-13 as F-7P, SAAB 2000, C-130, all the PAF, PAA, PN Helis in short almost all the aircraft PAF, PAA, PN has operated half of which are high quality payware models.

I have the PMDG planes too and run DCS on vanilla, getting only a meagre 20fps at the lowest settings.

FSX is terribly unoptimized here's to hoping Microsoft has learned from it's mistakes

Cool, I'll have a look, need to get back into this. Are there any good high quality freeware for Pakistan, scenery or aircraft, that you know of ?

That PIA DC 10 is the PMDG one ? PMDG are the bomb but just a little too detailed (not a bad thing). It'd take more time than I can afford at the moment to properly get into all the nuts and bolts of the simulated systems. Friends with a real life pilot flying a 737 with a local carrier here in India and he was pretty impressed with the sim, very impressed in fact, particularly with the FMC with AIRAC updates etc.

With flight sims, a consistent 30FPS, which is very low for today's "gaming" standards, will generally suffice, 20 would be a bad choppy experience though. On these big study sims which are very system heavy in terms of all that is being simulated, I'll happily sacrifice scenery and traffic etc in favour of a smoother experience just sitting in the cockpit, disable outside views etc, even use a 2D cockpit if available during approach or takeoff.

What kind of computer and peripheral config are you running ? Running a mid level (I guess) rig here,

7700k (stock), paired with a gtx 1070 and 16 gigs ram on a pretty decent Z270 Asus board and old 60 FPS monitors.

Saitek X 52 pro, Saitek pedals (not the combat ones) and a trackIR 5.

The trackIR is what really takes the immersion to another level. I just love firing up google earth, finding some random remote airports in ORBX regions and doing direct GPS VFR (no proper rules followed  ) flights on Carenado Cessna 172s etc :)

You are brilliant and have very brilliant livery collection of Pakistan. Do you paint them yourself or getting them from some forums?

There are quite a few superbly rendered Pakistani sceneries you can check them out here:
https://secure.simmarket.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=Pakistan

There is also a PAC Mushshak payware model if you search for it in the link given above

That DC-10 is actually made by Just Flight and CLS. Great exterior and interior anf functioning autopilot and fuel systems but no CIVA INS, so IFR flights have to be done without SIDS and stars with the crappy default GPS System. Still quite a good addition to your hangar.

I have a meh system with 16GB RAM i7-3770k and GT640 3GB cost me around 400 USD 2 years ago. Have the good old Logitech Joystick to supplement it. Planning to go VR with FSXX/ DCS.

Will it simulate 737 MAX realistically?
Well not the MAX version (not yet). But you can get the 737-800NGX simulation from PMDG here
https://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/products/FSX/NGX8900.html

.
Thank you! Apart from the last one all have been painted by me.
Nice to know that you have advanced skills in flight SIM world. Few years back, I also acquired some skills particularly was learning 3D modelling in 3D Max but unfortunately time constraints get me of the track.
Will rethink upon release of E3 for PC; but first I have to workout upon efficient configuration of machine to assemble it myself which could handle it with ease.
