I thought Micromax designs and produces its own phones...

Micromax Canvas 4 could be a rebadged BLU Life One; photos and alleged specs match

Micromax Canvas 4 could be a rebadged BLU Life One; photos and alleged specs match

This could be the OEM product that has been rebadged as the Micromax Canvas 4! The photographs of the BLU Life One look exactly the same as what Micromax has teased so far, though it is likely that Micromax has put its own custom software on top that supports some gesture UI that Micromax has been talking about. BLU is a Latin American vendor and it seems that both the companies sourced the smartphone from the same Chinese OEM. Read on for more details.

Apart from the photos, even the specifications of the BLU Life One match with the alleged specifications of the Canvas 4 that leaked last week. So we are looking at a 5-inch 720p, IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 2, dual-SIM with dual-standby in a 8.9mm thin chassis. It is running on a MediaTek MT6589 A7 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, with PowerVR Series 5XT GPU, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Apart from sporting Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities, it also has Wi-Fi Direct.

The BLU Life One has a 13-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera. It also supports touch-focus, smile detection, geo-tagging and HDR modes. A stereo FM radio and video recording at 1080p/30fps complete the multimedia features.

If the Micromax Canvas 4 is indeed a rebadged BLU Life One, it seems to be a minor incremental update over the Canvas HD than being a generational upgrade. We will get to know for sure on July 8, when Micromax unveils the Canvas 4 to the world.

Great now we opening threads about mobiles phones!

What? I was just surprised that Micromax rebadges OEM products. I had heard quite a bit about this hot new phone company from the Indian media, so I assumed that it designed and manufactured its own products.

Come to think of it, Micromax badges are added by the Chinese OEM, so Micromax doesn't even rebadge. Micromax merely imports and resells. It's a trading company.

. . .
how much? less than 10000 ruppi?

Well, it depends on the value of the rupee, doesn't it? Since Micromax imports Chinese OEM phones, the sinking rupee must really be hurting the profit margins.

Being a Chinese you shouldn't really be surprised about such things. And no we don't start threads regarding everything that surprises us.

Grow up, will ya.

As long as end customer is happy, nothing else matters. Why pay 3x for just brand name, when in some cases even OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is same.

Companies like Micromax forced established giants to slash price across all segments. I am happy even if I never buy Micromax product because it has brought sense to Samsung/Sony/LG in Indian market and they will no longer take us for granted and dump pathetic resolution phones like Grand Duos at 22k INR.

:rofl::omghaha:

There's no easy way to put this, but the Circle Rude mouse is a blatant rip-off of Razer Mamba. This doesn't come across as a surprise once you notice Rude's made-in-China label. That makes one wonder if Circle is in the same league as Micromax, Intex, Celkon, Karbonn and their ilk. You know; the sort of local brands that make a killing by simply rebadging Chinese products.
