Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

. .
Hodie Christus natus est. Hodie salvator apparuit! Hodie in terra cannut angeli, laetantur archangeli - Hodie exsultant justi, dicentes:
Gloria in excelsis Deo! Et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis, Amen. Alleluia!

Christ is born today. The Savior appears today. The angels sing today, the Archangels rejoice! The just rejoice today saying - Glory to God in the highest! And on Earth peace to men of good will! Amen! Alleluia!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYBODY. AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

I learned it in English at school and was part of the school choir as well. It's my mom's personal favourite christmas carol.

Only later would I learn the original German version...which is even more sublime....and only later would I know it was the song that literally broke the ice, just for a while on christmas, between the trenches in the first year of WW1.

The Silent Night theme always reminds me of the ending of one of the best Tom and Jerry episodes...and that yes, this day even sworn adversaries should put aside their fickle differences and harness the eternal spirit of brotherhood and friendship:

@django @Tps43 @Mentee @jamahir @Levina @waz @WAJsal @Zibago @RealNapster @Vergennes

BTW @Joe Shearer my ole chum, this is a great one to watch with any young loved ones you have...(in case you have not seen it)...watched it as a kid each year...and an ongoing tradition...ending still brings tear to my eye:

"Walking in the air" is an all time great of the "newer+original" christmas songs....doesnt even reference Christmas directly, its all purely in the context!

Hahaha
Wonder how did Christmas carol remind you of Tom and Jerry?
A very happy new year to you, bro.
Whats your plan on the new year’s eve?
My new year party is gone for six bcoz of my eye injury, that happened when i had gone to meet my editor from Satyavijayi, who happens to be a Tamilian like you. :-)

Get better ASAP sis. (eye injury ouch!..and ugh! :( )

That Tom and jerry cartoon has the "silent night" theme in it (when jerry out in the cold)...lol.

New years I will just be hanging out with friends and loved ones etc...nothing too fancy. Well we might go tobogganing in snow after a bit if we feel like it.

Happy new year to you as well!
