Merging Afghanistan With Pakistan

Yes, as long as we have clear states with within the union such as European Union. We can have Kashmir, Punjab, Sindh, Pashtunistan, Balochistan etc. Get rid of Urdu as national language. All these states should have their own language as the national and we can communicate with each other in English as we already do. This will ensure the survival of local languages and cultures and get rid of resentment some people have regarding the threat to their language and culture. I would add Tajikistan to this Union as well. We can sign a common defence pact like NATO etc..

What about union parliament, it should be based on popular votes or equal votes for each state? will states like KpK, punjab etc have CM or PM? For example our all provinces are ruled by cm, while PM deal with federal affairs. Union Foreign minister or local foreign ministerS?

We can have Urdu and Dari instead of foreign languages.

Urdu and Dari as communication language b/w states not as National language. every state should have its own language as National language.

Most likely there will be a Pakistan-Afghanistan merger; but it wont be the whole of Afghanistan. As the Pashtun majority gets sick and tired of minority-dominated government and anti-Pakistan sentiments clamour down - we'll see possible referendums in each province; this will be fueled by second generation refugees who are very pro-Pakistani.

I am Pashtun from Northern Afghanistan originally so I can speak both languages.

Ofcourse I mean all of Afghanistan but not under the current status quo. Northern Afghanistan plus Tajikistan can be named Khorasan.
Ofcourse the more countries the better but one has to start somewhere and lead by example so others can follow.

Need South eastern Uzbekistan and Southern Kyrgyzstan included apart from Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

Any endeavor without Ferghana valley and Samarkand is incomplete. This is the land of the great Mughals.

Afghanistan has too many of its own problems, its good for both neighbours if territorial integrity of both states is respected, such threads are a waste of time !!!

1.Iskandar Mirza, who used to serve as a Political Agent after leaving the army, spoke Persian and Pashtu fluently. As President he very nearly brought the Afghans close to a deal. Unfortunately I do not remember the details in the papers back in the 1950s. However, it is in the best interest of both nations to come to a soft confederation like arrangement. That will keep enemies away from both. Will also benefit in economy.

2. But the Durand Line issue must be solved first. And a starting point would be to acknowledge that the Line is there. Should the tribal area be jointly administered or another arrangement where both feel comfortable?

How is Durand line still relevant once Afghanistan merges with Pakistan?

Chaudhry Rahmat Ali actually wanted Afghanistan and the Central Asian Muslim states to be a part of Pakistan. I support the idea. We Pakistanis and Afghans are heading towards becoming one people. Many Afghans live in Pakistan and have assimilated.

I know many Afghan refugees who love Pakistan and now consider Pakistan to be their country as much as Afghanistan. And they are very worried about the growing Hindu influence in Afghanistan.

And we are also one Ummah. We should be together.

Our size will increase and it will be a greater counterweight to India. An Af-Pak merger will benefit Afghanistan as it gets access to seaports and food from Pakistan and Pakistan benefits with strategic depth.

The haters from both sides of the borders have messed up the relations on political lines.. the people to people relations are good since day one. Even today you see the diaspora from both countries living in same neighborhoods in the west, they pray together attend eid festivals organized by each other. the political differences will go away with time. It will just take some time and patience.

Exactly. We are the same people essentially. The only hate i see is online on Pashtun Forums.

A merger will do both countries good. It will definitely hurt India a lot.

Whenever there was an Indo-Pak War, the Pashtun lashkars on eithr side rushed to defend their Muslim brethren. Again when the Soviets advanced into Afghanistan, the largest volunteer force from outside Afghanistan was that of Pakistan. (The second largest went from BD).

Masha Allah

These borders between the Ummah are all artificial.
