No it doesn't India is racist no matter where you go in India me and my partner were treated like Kings and Queens in India because of the color of our skin but I doubt black, brown, or North Eastern Indians will get treated the same way.
alright...so it was a rhetorical question.. lol.. my bad..
mine was genuine though.. anybody else want to take a stab?

You were very lucky in that case tbh.

what about racism? not talking about weather or infra... seems its good.

I have learnt long back there is undercurrents of racism, anywhere you live. Australia is much better in that case TBH. At Least they say on face how they feel about you.

Sorry if I was harsh I realize not all Indians are racist but in my experience in India it seemed to be the case.

yeah its cool...

we will compare with India once India claims to be the best livable city... so for now Melbourne it is... compared to say london or dublin for example...
the factors are not same for all people, hence the question... (did not think needed to clarify but never too late)..

yeah but am sure there is regional variation in the level of racism...
for example I think Edinburgh is way less racist than many other cities of England...

btw I heard many English saying aussies and south africans to be racists(more than themselves)...

What do you mean? Everyone in Australia has equal rights we don't distinguish by religion, or race of course you get the idiots but they are a very small minority and the laws in Australia are very tough.

I meant overt racism in form of racially aggravated assault, physical.... verbal... or less type of opportunities available to minorities of similar education, or if there is a lot of segregation along racial lines.. etc.
by law everybody is equal in most countries... I am asking ground reality.

I just answered that above your post everyone gets the same opportunists in Australia it is illegal for an employer to ask about your religion, race, if you are married etc those are the ground realities.

I agree but Melbourne is the multi cultural capital of Australia as well so it all adds up Melbourne rocks if it wasn't so cold in during winter Melbourne would be unstoppable Melbourne has that laid back lifestyle has a good work life balance.

Is Melbourne really that cold, or Australians in general just prefer warm weather? I've read many Australians on news comments who complained Melbourne is too cold to be livable.

I just went to Melbourne a few months ago during the winter. It's cold at 7-15°C, but definitely nowhere as cold as the winter in North-East Asia/Europe/North America. I think a winter in Melbourne would be considered as spring or autumn in Beijing lol.

It gets to -1 here in Melbourne in winter and in summer it gets to 46 degrees but the wind factor gets it even colder the wind cuts through you even if you are wearing jumpers, jackets etc.
