What's new

meeting huriyat was a bad idea Pakistan

being stubborn didnt do anything for him......he's still only allowed to travel to US because he (an extremist) happens to be the prime minister. his history still haunts him everywhere he crawls

as for Pakistan - that's the whole point. We didnt allow ourselves to be arm-twisted by india and i'm damned proud of that fact

You don't get the irony of it. pakistan's major foriegn policy revolves around Kashmir, and another big part around Afghanistan - the mere existence of any PM or a martial general depends on his animosity towards India and his caliber in bringing up Kashmir whenever he gets to hold a mike or when he gets an audience from an Indian delegation. pakistan's chief advisor has a point - it was foolish to let go of a given opportunity and pakistan's ambassador should have avoided an embarrassment.

If you remember we already broke Pakistan's one hand....

Modi did not get US visa because of congress govt not because of USA

Congress made his devil image and tried to put fear in people's mind. but that did not work and became PM because Indian people wanted that.

He is allowed to travel US because Indian people made him PM....not because he became dictator like in Pakistan in past

Shiv Aroor b@stard is another famous hawk in the jingoistic Bharati media. No need to take this clown or his tweets or his source (rahul kunwal) seriously. NS's speech yesterday was good enough to explain the policy of Pakistan with India and part of Kashmir it is occupying.

Pak High Commissioner-Hurriyat meeting ill-timed, could have been avoided: Sartaj Aziz : India, News - India Today

Advisor to the Pakistan Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Saturday regretted the meeting of Pakistan High Commissioner with the Hurriyat leaders in New Delhi ahead of India-Pak Secretary level talks last month.

In an exclusive interaction with Headlines Today on the sidelines of UNGA meeting, Aziz said the meeting with Kashmiri extremist leaders was ill-timed.

"The timing of the meeting between Pakistan High Commissioner to India and the Hurriyat leaders was not right and it could have been avoided. The newly-elected leaders of both the countries missed an opportunity of starting a dialogue."

However, he insisted that Pakistan can't ignore Hurriyat.

"The talks should not have been cancelled as the issue was not that big. Kashmiri leaders have been meeting us as the Kashmir is one of the issues, which is to be discussed. Dialogues with Hurriyat leaders has been a regular practise since last 20-30 years."

He further added that, "We are upset after India cancelled the talks. Talks are the only way forward for us. Now, the ball is in India's court to come up with a date."

Praises Modi's for his UNGA speech

Aziz praised Modi for his 'positive' speech at UN General Assembly.

"What I find very positive is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech at UNGA in which he said I want to improve relations with our neighbours including Pakistan," said Aziz.

And is that why your NSA is now bending over backwards and making reconciliatory noises. ?

Modi today said two things inside UNGA:
1. Issues can only be resolved through bilateral dialogue. There is no space for any third party.
2. Bringing matters to UN is futile. This is India's way of telling the world community that they must roll it and shove it up their behind because India isn't going to care about any forum or any resolution when it comes to issues of national interest.

If Pakistani diplomats haven't realized this fact then they must now that Modi is nothing like his predecessors. He walks the talk. Past is Past, he is not Manmohan Singh, he isn't gonna fall for Biryani Diplomacy.

i have a very big question to ask....
history says that some indians were rulling sub-continent..... after then they were veryyyyy badly beaten by aryans , then by turks , then by mughals , then by english and then pakistan was created in 1947.... there is no existence of independence of india in history..... SO WHY DO india celeberates its independance on 15th august.....????

In Kashmir issue, apart from army of Pakistan, rest of the people and polotician does not count...So what does politician says is really irrelevant..These are purely for media consumption..

In Pakistan, the army is the people and the other way round. Where one goes the other follows, where the other leads, the rest follow.

People forget that Pakistan's stance had hardened even before Modi was elected. It was a noticeable change. Nobody is forcing Nawaz to say all this. It was pre-planned when GoP sensed that Modi will likely form government. The only way to deal with someone like him is to put him in his place instead of trying to please him.

On the issue of Kashmir everyone in Pakistan is on the same page. Make no mistake about it. If Indians do not like it, well then they can do whatever they want. Superior airs do not change facts.

the fact that any change in boundaries to kashmir could have larger implication for indian union is the biggest sword that would make india never to talk kashmir with pak seriously.

however, you may harden you stance, i guess, india is not going to yield on kashmir. pak should move on.

Watch: 'Could Have Timed Hurriyat Meeting Better' - Sartaj Aziz to NDTV

Pakistan's Foreign Affairs Minister Sartaj Aziz has for the first time conceded that the timing of the meeting between Kashmiri separatists and Pakistan's High Commissioner could have been different. Speaking to NDTV in New York he said Pakistan would not give up the right to meet with Kashmiri representatives but that the timing need not necessarily have been before the foreign secretary talks. He also said the Pakistan Army needs, and has been given an assurance, that a peace process with India would not result in a cut in its budget. Although he welcomed Prime Minister Modi's comments on dialogue with Pakistan, he also argued that the ball is now in India's court.
So its all about the money  ?

If you change policies according to people you have already lost the plot. You are catering more to people who are in power rather than to the issue.

In Pakistan, the army is the people and the other way round. Where one goes the other follows, where the other leads, the rest follow.

Say it in simple words. The military complex holds the India policy portfolio, and now the afghan and US policy too.

Since you've taken the time to post the same question about on multiple threads, I have come to the conclusion that you are genuinely concerned about Indian nation and their celebrations. So I feel like I should take the time to assuage your concerns regarding this matter. Indians celebrate 15th of August as their Independence Day because British rule over their nation ended that day and the country of India came into existence. Judging by your spelling and grammar, I think I can say with a certain degree of certainty that English is not your strong suit. So let me explain the difference between a Nation and a country. Nation = people, country = the state. So nations become free and countries come into existence. That's why 4th of July is celebrated as the independence here in the US. No United States of America existed before that but people fought for their freedom and once they achieved it, they called their country the United states of America. I hope this addresses your concerns regarding the indian Independence Day. I must say I am touched by the amount of concern you've shown for India and Indians. I cannot believe that the Indians were so rude in not addressing your concerns sooner.
