she is from Manipur if am not wrong. I know it does look like the movie you mentioned and they have set a wrong precedent in bollywood, and such movies will always be compared with these movies. Bhag milkha bhag was also good but it was clubbed with these fictional movies. Dil bole hadippa was a bad copy of she's the man though.

I've always held that grudge against Chak De.....It's really an embarrassment to see us winning in fiction but not in real. The trend really began with Lagaan though. Iqbal was a truly wondrous movie, but it too kinda falls into the same category.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, for all it's melodrama and souped up self-congratulatory tone, was still a 'comfortable' watch. Mary Kom looks set to carry forward this fusion of sports-drama grounded in reality. It also promises to be far more pleasing to the eyes than BMB.

yea manipur is city? I was talking about ethnicity cause she look like Tibetan ..its good to appreciate heroes but sometime they just put too much sensationalism in it which people cannot digest

Manipur is a state in North East India. Well I would appreciate such heroes anyday than those senseless movies of Sunny Paaji.

Getting a mega glamorous, pretty lady to depict a poor farmer's girl, who rose to the top of female boxing world is just not on. An unknown should have taken the role or someone more in tune with Mary's life.

I'd say casting a superstar isn't bad. The film has to do well financially as well, as films without stars find it difficult to market themselves well to Indian audiences.

But I too would like to have seen a Northeastern girl take up the role. The authenticity is lost a bit from the very beginning with this casting.

Bearing that movie was too much, but that last penalty, Haye Allah yeh bech mein maaray gi was too much to take. they spoiled the whole genre of movies for bollywood. Now such movies draws a parallel to this cr@p.
