Maoists blow up seven wings of govt. building in Bihar
Maoists on Thursday blasted around seven wings of a building of the State Irrigation department in Aurangabad district.
The incident took place around 2.30 a.m. near Bigha village in Deo block, on the Deo-Abma road. Around 50 to 100 hundred Maoists attacked the building and blasted it, the police said.
The building has seven structures, which were being repaired by the Irrigation department. Two of them have been severely damaged, while the remaining five have been partially damaged, Daljeet Singh, superintendent of police, Aurangabad, told The Hindu.
The police have also recovered a live cane bomb, which we have defused. It kept to trap the police and the bomb disposal squad, Mr. Singh said.
He said there was no plan to move teams of the Central Reserve Police Force to the building.
A case under the Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act has been registered.
