Manipur to get German-made weapons

I would say Israeli X95 should be better.

=boris;1504856]1) forces have training that is enough to make them understand what to use where ,for CQB they'll use mp5 but in jungles they'll surely take 5.56 or 7.62 caliber weapons.

Again MKs can be used for the same, may br MP5 is for escort duties.

2)bulletproof vest doesnt mean its invincible ,either get a bullet big enough or hit from a shorter range.most confrontations in CQB/hostage rescue happen at 15-20m and since you mentioned jungle except for a well trained sniper who has great postion with an assault rifle in the night you cant take a well aimed shot beyond 50-60m its nature buddy you just cant bend it.

Check in the you tube(I cant from here now), you will find out videos of bullet proof jackets(not even vests) where they shot at a person from close range from 9mm weapon and stay safe.

Becoz of this limitation, even SPG went for P90.

. .
Isn't it costly?

How about this?

MP 7

or P90.(Check the horizontal magz,.

I don't think X95 is much more costly and it is used by Indian army. And its not a uzi type but more of close combat rifle. If they need I think they should go for MSMC than MP7.

P90 is very good when you are doing bodyguard duties hence the SPG,the mp5 actually has a lot of different variants for diff. jobs the MP5K is excellent for close protection if you want it concealed, the mp5 navy is very good for special ops in CQB hence you see the navy SEALS and SAS using it for that purpose,SWAT teams prefer the MP5SFA2/A3.

bodyguard duties utilise different methods the SPG is a military overt method where you can see the firepower they are carrying, then there is a normal overt method where you see bodyguards are there but you dont see any weapons with them but they conceal them under loose fitting jackets/coats,the last one is covert method which utilises assault members and snipers positioned at different locations and except for the operators nobody knows where they are and what firepower they are carrying.

yes the 9mm doesnt pierce armor but i see these mp5 used mainly for protection and CQB ,for anything else over here all police units ultimately pick up the AK 47.SPG guards the PM so what they want they get immediately, the special forces and NSG come later, sorry buddy but thats how MOD,MHA works.

they(army) will never go for mp7 because of its ammo used,4.7 ammo isnt feasible for OFB to produce ,SPG might go for it as they are a very small unit and they import the ammo like the one used in P90,five-seven pistol.5.7,4,7 is very unique ammo.

Even MSMC is good, fire the Armour piercing bullets. But in looks, it is heavy than P90 or MP-7. Still no probs...

It is under trail for years what the hell is the status???

For ineffectiveness of 9mm bullets, there is one fine example, Bank of America shooting in USA, will get the details once you search it in google. it was so fierce, may you even get it from youtube..

Might be but I was talking about Manipur police. If they need submachine gun carbine of MP7 type than they should go for MSMC.

After first round of trials the Army proposed some modifications and DRDO have done it. After second phase of trial army is quite happy with performance. Its under production, will soon be used by regular Indian soldiers and security forces.

solution is very simple use m4 in MK11MOD0 config which the green berets use for CQB all its needs is a conversion kit.

I think it has to do with that article which stated that German firms have banned some Indian states to purchase these weapons. It was also written that Home Ministry has decided to directly purchase them and give it to the states.
