Pakistan has plenty of real soldiers from martial regions.
No need to bring in hippies and Islamists into a professional organization.
Just like you cannot make all college kids as programmers
you cannot make all college kids as soldiers.
This will be waste of money just like the failed program of NCC.
Us the Karachi people are not good in military but good as Sarkari or private office paper pushers. Let's remain paper pushers. Thank you

Pakistan will ultimately have to go down this route. Countries like Singapore have 3yrs conscription, Switzerland has an extensive program (& 100% civilians are armed), Pakistan needs to have at the very minimum 1 year of such dedicated training. Such training instills discipline amongst the younger generation, which is desperately needed as well. Basic training will not be sufficient, such as NCC.

I say 100%. Fit for body, self defence and counter terrorism training if you have mandatory military training.

However, Pakistani citizens should be obligated for some social work, incl. civil defense.
Once every month, young people should do social work. Once every year, they should be trained physically.
It is not needed at least just yet. Pakistan can requisition a manpower north of 1 million for the army alone if needed at any given time with the reservists being called up. The professional military model works better for Pakistan and alleviates the impact on the work force that arises when conscription is in place.

It should be mandatory, go ahead, youth loves Pak Army & Pakistan.
And believe me people will fight against the enemy of pakistan even without any battle hardened training. the fact is they will try but will not success if there is no training for them, so why not train them. just look at other end, bajrang dal & RSS train Indian youth against us. Although we are not warmongers but we are facing 7 times bigger enemy. So our each young man should be able to handle 7 baniya at the same time but for this Army training should be must in schools & collages of every city.

your assumption is really wrong about karachits. They can be an excellent fighter with cleaver minds & genius strategy against enemy.

I remember they use to conduct couse of NCC till 99 sice mushy take over as about i was entering to college mushy took NCC courses out from colleges

All 11th and 12th grade education, regardless of A-levels, intermediate, and madressah, should have mandatory military style including parades after Fajr prayers, military skills, and firing of weapons. Skills can be divided into medical, air defence, fire training, NBC response etc.
