Why not surprised given that plastic and rubber are by-product of petroleum.

If we convert plastic into oil then that means we are not recycling them. Oil burned adds to green house emission. While this is a positive achievement we should also invest in cleaner energy

I'm not poopooing the idea, it has an important place just like regular recycling but I don't like his idea of making portable machines. Chemical processes like this are much much much more efficient if you scale up reactions and use large facilities. Plastics should be taken from landfills and brought to the processing machines instead of portable processing machines.

Also it would be very hard to educate third world people the difference between thermal plastics and thermoset plastics. The latter being completely unsuitable for thermal cracking.

Atleast this thing can't be dubbed as cracking not from practical point of view !!!

Look he is using PLASTIC for oil this ain't cracking in its textual form as explained in Chemistry books!!
