No. China cannot afford Mistral. Mistral's 21000 tonnes full displacement is also too small for PLAN. If doubling Mistral's displacement, at the same time cutting its price to 1/3, just as what china's domestic-made amphibious assault ship plans to do, then China navy may have some interest.

For a small country, not so powerful and don't have extremely big dream, it is better to stay neutral and be friend with everyone (except except extremist). Stay smart enough and don't allow proxy war happen in the country.

Some minimum military hardware is still required (which we badly need) for potential small scale conflict in the future.

And even if Vietnam could buy it with all the helicopters, it still suffocates. This is the reality, the difference keeps getting bigger and bigger. Just take a good look at our Naval size and how fast it is growing, along with our Airforce. Buying some carrier or some smaller gepard ships isn't gonna make any difference at all. We don't even bother looking at the Japanese Navy. And we only spend like 2% of the GDP, so when you and your pals talk about kicking our butts do you seriously believe that BS?

RMAF have already started scrapping the MiG29. These Mig29 have alraedy exceeded the airframes lifespan.

China has already scrapped many of the early delivered SU-27 due to the same reasons.

JF-17 in fact is the right plane for RMAF as it comes effective and CHEAP.

Malaysia do not need a sophiscated and expensive fighters. Who are they fighting anywhere?

Malaysia can get a loan from France to buy both Mistrals. The Mistrals will be used by Malaysia to defend its territory while Russia will use them to invade other countries.

It is an assault ship with helicopters and it gives Malaysia with hundreds of islands extra capability to defend its territory. Russia wanted to use it invade its neighbors.

Lpd forms a part of expeditionary warfare...it's used for fighting on foreign lands far from home or for carrying out humanitarian relief during peace time...it's not meant for defence!!
Lol lpd are meant for invading enemy land!!

Malaysia is also trying to acquire it to increase their offensive capabilities...to intimidate parties involved in its disputed territories!

China certainly does not expect Japan to bow down for us. Japan is a chained country who has no choice but to listen to US to this very day. If anything Japan has been bowing to US since the end of WW2, why do you think we all say Japan has no independent foreign policy? I don't understand why you think China wants Japan to bow down for us. All China demands is not to whitewash WW2 history, acknowledge the crimes committed against humanity just as the Koreans are demanding the same from Japan. Plus solving the dispute peacefully with China and South Korea. No country criticizes Germany but many scholars from around the world do criticize Japan for failing to give a proper apology.

Well VCP is smart enough to keep relationship with China as friendly as possible, unlike some of you here repeating nonsense all the time.
