PESA aint't that bad. It's simpler but quite functional. Every American warship except Zumwalt and Bush have PESA. Anyway, Su-30 can be upgraded with the new Byelka AESA.

Radar is not the only factor that determine effectiveness. MiG-31 had PESA when it entered service in 1981. F-15E had mechanical radar when it entered service in 1989. Radar alone does not dictate MiG-31 was better than F-15E in 1989. There are many other factors besides radar. For example, engine. Su-30 MKM has thrust vectoring. F-15 SG does not have.

I especially like the weapons carrying capacity of Su 30s, it’s close to 10 tonnes which is huge.
A single aircraft can deal huge damange on the enemy.
