PESHAWAR: Three military officials including two senior officers of the Pakistan army were martyred in a blast near Pak-Afghan border, said the Inter-Services Public Relations, media wing of the army on Sunday.

Major General Sanaullah (pictured above) and Lt Colonel Tauseef were killed in Upper Dir area when a roadside bomb went off.

Asim Bajwa, a spokesman for the ISPR, sad that Sepoy Imran was also among those martyred in the blast while two soldiers were injured soldiers injured.

They officers were on visit to the front positions of the army along the Pak-Afghan border and were returning from the area when the incident took place.

The killings of the Pakistan Army’s senior officers come when the country is mulling over offering peace deal to the militants to put an end to the surging violence, which has so far killed over 40,000 people including 5,000 security officials.

UPPER DIR, Sept 9: Army has secured the western borders of the country by thwarting the nefarious designs of terrorists, says Maj-Gen Sanaullah Niazi.

He said that terrorists wouldn’t be allowed to disturb peace of the area. Militants wanted to disturb peace of the region as proxies of some forces, he added.

As for as I know he was the GOC of 17 division and was in charge of Swat valley among others.

BTW atleast 2 other died along with him are: :t.Col Tausef and Sepoy Imran.
