Last Sunday, in a nondescript building in the India city of Gwalior, 200 miles south of Delhi, a large crowd of men gathered. Most wore bright saffron hats and scarves, a colour evoking Hindu nationalism, and many held strands of flowers as devotional offerings.

They were there to attend the inauguration of the Godse Gyan Shala, a memorial library and “knowledge centre” dedicated to Nathuram Godse, the man who shot Mahatma Gandhi. The devotional yellow and pink flowers were laid around a black and white photograph of Godse, the centrepiece of the room.

On 30 January 1948, Godse stepped out in front of Gandhi and shot him three times at point-blank range. A fervent believer in Hindu nationalism, Godse thought Gandhi had betrayed India’s Hindus by agreeing to partition, leading to the creation of Pakistan, and by championing the rights of Muslims. In 1949, Godse was hanged for Gandhi’s murder.

In the following decades, Godse was widely decried as a terrorist and traitor, the murderer of the “father of India”. Yet, in recent years, as Hindu nationalism has moved from an extremist fringe to mainstream Indian politics – the ruling Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) has a Hindu nationalist agenda at their core – Godse’s public reputation has steadily shifted from being condemned as traitor to being venerated as a misunderstood Indian patriot.

Now they are honouring the terrorist who killed founder of india.and no body is objecting about it.

Only the snowflake community among white people will be genuinely shocked.

Most sensible people know Gandhi-ism is a complete sham, thinly veiling the truth of a rabid fascist nation.

i don't care but at least we can remove the mask from their faces.
so-called peace-loving people.gandhi is the face of peace outside of india. even they burn his effigies daily but never talk about him negatively outside of india.

Tell me who are these killers?

The police shot the assassin on the spot. The killer was known to the police as a declared assassin.

No investigation was made public.

atleast Indians know who are their enemy and what and which killed Gandhi. Pakistanis don't bother with who killed Liaquat or Xia. They just celebrate death as cultural events

LOL @ "founder of India"
Rest is not worth paying attention. Indians are just about to strip the prefix "Mahatma" (Great Soul) from Gandhi from this moment on. Also it may be replaced with "Mahadanav" (Great Demon). You can believe whatever you want.

Dibs on "I am Gandhi, and I am not a Terrorist".

Imagine the uproar in India if an Indian Muslim, hypothetically, were to criticize Gandhi.
Jinnah said on the day Gandhi was assassinated, “I am shocked to learn of the most dastardly attack on the life of Mr Gandhi, resulting in his death. Whatever our political differences, he was one of the greatest men produced by the Hindu community, and a leader who commanded their universal confidence and respect. I wish to express my deep sorrow, and sincerely sympathise with the great Hindu community and his family in their bereavement at this momentous, historical and critical juncture so soon after the birth of freedom for Hindustan and Pakistan. The loss of dominion of India is irreparable, and it will be very difficult to fill the vacuum created by the passing way of such a great man at this moment.”
WTF is "Dibs"?

WTF is WTF?
