Lol @ trigger happy nature and killing friendlies .(Can they be kicked out for repeating actions)
It wasnt entirely their fault. Their aircraft are not compatible with NATO operational procedures and this being their first major foreign exersize in years with a western power.. and bringing a mix of experienced and non experienced fliers.. they were bound to avoid being embarrassed by being killed(in their minds the outcome of Red Flag).. so they decided to shoot everyone on sight.

You have a source for this statement?
https://in.rbth.com/blogs/2014/03/10/dissecting_a_dogfight_sukhoi_vs_usaf_at_red_flag_2008_33623

Considering the effort the indian source made to downplay their faults.. its commendable.

Thanks. That article actually mentions some of the underlying reasons quite well that mitigate what the USAF colonel said at face value. A good read.

Well, those statements are from the IAF side and skewed.. against what was from the USAF side and was skewed. The truth is in the middle.

Yah I took that into account :D

Interesting fact about Red Flag Alaska..
Its run as a "easy" counterpart for Red Flag Vegas to allow foreign friends to train in a less demanding environment as compared to Red Flag Vegas in terms of Fratricide rules and inter operability. Considering that in the last Red Flag the Su-30MKIs were killing all their blue side allies a bit too high due to their lack on interoperability and trigger happy nature.. Red Flag Alaska suits them well.

You just slaughtered some highly inflated egos, how cruel.

The IAF were meant to participate in Red Flag (Vegas) in 2013 but that year's Red Flag was cancelled because of US budget cuts so the IAF has decided to opt for "plan B" aka Red Flag Alaska. The IAF itself says it wants to take part in one Red Flag (Vegas/Nellis) every 5 years thus it should have been 2008-2013-2018 but with the 2013 edition cancelled the IAF did not wish to go 10 years between exercises and thus is taking part in Red Flag Alaska 2016. Thus there wasn't a concious decsion made to switch from Red Flag Vegas to Alaska to avoid embarassment to anything of the kind. A total misrepresentation of the facts.

The "fraticide" issues were fairly expressed in that infamous YouTube "debreif". The IAF had intially been very hesitent because they weren't networked with NATO assets (friendly fighters and E-3 AWACS) thus they had held their fire which resulted in heavy losses for the IAF side in the early stages of the exercise as they waited. Subsequently the IAF fighter jocks ensured that they reduced their losses by being less conservative with their engagments which had lead to the other extreme- higher fraticide rates but less IAF losses so job done as far as the IAF are concerned. This element is the most trivial part of the entire EX as the IAF would NEVER be networking with NATO or engaging in joint air campaigns, all of their assets are inter-linked with their own data-links back home, the IAF only goes to Red Flag to validate their own training practices and learn from others, it isn't there to learn how to fight with NATO so an entirely moot point.

And with this reply, there goes some one mental masturbation mood.....

Well our Jaguars have already been to Cope Thunder ( The name of Red Flag - Alaska). The Cope Thunder is more inclined towards strike and the Red Flag - Nellis is more inclined towards Air Defence.

The youtube debrief had some truth but the Indian being who they are will never accept it because social structure.
On the other hand, they were at a disadvantage due to non data linked structure but also their overconfidence and false image of superiority built at Cope India. It got taken down and that is that. Red Flag Alaska is the one that is most suitable for non compatible forces like the IAF who are not familiar with western procedures and training.

Yah I took that into account :D
I seriously doubt that, considering your nationality but that is natural

Was not the Bars Radar switched off during that exercise, and did we have our AWACS in play? hence why so many friendly kills but hey this was a training exercise where there is always room for improvement

Training against the US air force will only improve our pilot skills and techniques, if they did a bit better does it matter? the point is why they did better and how could we better ourselves next time.

He will not ,the inferiority complex hardly dies....

We are indeed indebted to PDF for it gives us the distinction to be honoured by such inflated egos.
Hell, if you people ever manage to win an air combat, you brain might as well explode.
