MADE IN PAKISTAN: Making Pakistan Proud.
(Written by Umair Khalid)
You will not find these news on our TV Channel as they are too busy seeking out negative news about our country.
Pakistan's contribution to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) - the world's largest and most powerful particle collider, the largest and most complex experimental facility ever built, and the largest single machine in the world - situated at the underground CERN facility in Switzerland and France.
A high-rate Resistive Plate Chamber (RPC) installed in the LHC, which was designed jointly by the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) and the National Centre for Physics (NCP), Islamabad, and manufactured at the Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC), Taxila, Pakistan.
Out of a total of 300 RPCs installed in the LHC, 245 (plus 43 spares) were manufactured in Pakistan, Yes I repeat 245/300 LHC were manufactured in Pakistan. Pakistan won the contract for 288 RPCs leaving even CHINA & Japan behind in the bid.
The LHC is being used to trace the origins of the Universe and is used by Scientists world wide.
In 2011 Pakistan was again given contract for designing, production and testing of front end electronics circuitry of Compact Muon Solenoid . The components were made by a team from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad . The project was completed in 2014-2015. A team of Pakistani Scientists, engineers and technicians traveled to CERN for installation of the components made in Pakistan.
BTW these r only few of the contributions from us to CERN project in Switzerland, where r just associated member, not even a full member! and India isnt even a observer. And someone @Acknowledge @Razia Sultana were saying the other day that Bangladesh has climbed Pakistan's literacy rate! I mean seriously, yr talking abt a country which is the 7th largest producer of Scientists and Engineers worldwide. We r those who used to host the primary scientist conference in Nathiagali since 1950s, where all the world's physicists used to come from all over the world to discuss the latest researches and thesis on Physics. Our Great and legendary Physicists like Dr Abdul Salam Dr Muneer etc used to chair those gatherings No wonder we were able to develop such a lethal level of our new generation of Nuclear Missiles like Nasr and for the fact that we were able to build such a midget warhead which still maintains its zeal n power just as a traditional warhead. Which is so small that according to Dr Mubarakmand it can even be launched from a rocket launcher if need be.
No wonder yr scientists and western scientists r still baffled and appalled of how a ''third world'' country is able to achieve this breakthrough. And BTW Nasr's warhead isnt the smallest nuke bomb we posses, we have got something even smaller that.
So u two @Acknowledge and @Razia Sultana u two r still new members, and yr now lucky enough to be part of this forum and still surviving, so its better to gain some knowledge about a great country such as ours before babbling. yes we have our problems, so does every country, but they are of different nature.
REMEMBER U BOTH CARTOONS! U KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MY COUNTRY, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
