What's new

Made-in-Pakistan JF-17 fighter goes global, desi Tejas yet to take off

ask indian meda and go explain them rather then chest thumping here you can mail  abut indigenous yes its joke man :p: new engines will come from USA now not russia for indigenous tejas :enjoy:
Not even the mighty China has an indigenous jet engine in service, it was always going to be VERY ambitious to get the Kaveri on the LCA in time.

That said, the Kaveri has laid a very solid foundation for which India will build upon for the future.

+ The Kaveri isn't dead, it will power UCAVs currently under development.

.
Well I guess We are used to it now. I will be happy if we can get FOC by march 2016.

.
There are two ways to look at LCA / Tejas.

1) According to Indians it is not a failure because they have found enough support from USA in regards to Engines. Israel and Dassault upgraded the HAL facilities and provided new wing designs and other technical assistance in avionics. This made the Aircraft fly and hence is awaiting its final FOC. However the IAF does not still likes it but is interested in the next upgrade.

2) This is a failure because the money that has been spent on the various projects that were to be part of Tejas have been replaced by western ones.

Excuse me but this is utter nonsense. Dassualt and Israel have NO involvement in the LCA project and the US provides nothing but the engines and that too is only a very recent as such assistance was denied for a long time during the sanctions era.

The design of the wing and avionics are as a result of foreign assistance????

You clearly don't understand the size and scope of the eco-system India/ADA/DRDO/HAL have developed in India as a result of this project and I am not about to explain it to you beyond saying you are entirely wrong in your assertions.

sold foundation of failures ? hahahaha go play with someone else kid you guys can turn a shinny day to night here in words but in fact kaveri wasted Rs 2,600 crores of poor indian tax payers money and efforts nothing happen its dead failed engine

Kaveri has been under development at the GTRE since March 1989. Anthony, in his written reply, says 2,200hr of ground and altitude testing have been completed on nine Kaveri prototype engines plus four Kabini core prototypes. In Russia, the engine was flown to Mach 0.7 and almost 40,000ft over 27 flights totalling 57hr.
Development was scheduled to be completed in December 1996 at a projected cost of $69.5 million (Rs.382.81 Crore). But because of technical failures and delays, the program was extended and its cost revised to $515 million, of which $362 million has been spent so far, says Anthony.

Because of the Kaveri's failure, the Tejas Mk1 is powered by an imported 19,000lb-thrust GE F404-IN20. But the aircraft is overweight and underpowered, so an enlarged Mk2 version is planned powered by a 22,000lb-thrust GE F414-INS6.

Heard the same rhetoric about missiles when there was lots of failed missile launch from India while Pakistan had advance missiles brought from Korea and China not so long ago but look where we are today ? Are is gonna happen in aerospace technologies too . Advantage of having your own projects will yield gold in return for your hard work . Tejas is the gateway for future 5th gen programmes which was
I'll be produced in mass numbers locally . If you think this is the end of Tejas then we'll enjoy your days where you can mock it because in very near future the heat will be on u and more drastically towards your masters

let them put the Indian engines in the ucav Pakistan would have nothing to worry about them as they would pose no threat... Even if they do make it airborne and send them they are not going to return due to some sort of failures and land in Pakistan. Which would really make the entire project a big failure.

It's very easy to criticise from afar, isn't it? Please tell me how many nations are actually able to develop these high-end technologies? There are only FIVE nations in history to have showcased such a capability (and the mighty China isn't on that list), expecting India to be fully successful ON ITS FIRST TRY is pretty ambitious even for the most deluded nationalist.

And again, how does one term the Kaveri a failure? As I have said, it has laid a foundation which WILL (and is) be built on for future projects/iterations.

To use a very overused quote:

“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”

FOC doesnt matter,,,,20 IOC std. have already been ordered.moreover all delay is due to cobham,,they r culprit,,they not giving nose cone, which only they can manufacture in the whole world,so our DPSU's have to wait till they provide it,,othr thn tht everythng is ready.
n thn there is kickback loving airforce,,,they dont like indeginous.
anyway MK2 will be a real beast,,a true 4++ gen. aircraft....it will be best in class,,,will fly in 2018,,n inducted in 2020-2022.DPSU's working real hard to do tht.dont give up on thm

Tejas is an embarrassment for us...... The worst part of it is, there seems to be no end for this embarrassment

But it is absolutely wrong to compare it with JF 17

Tejas can only be compared with paper plans

. .
JF-17 is a superior product and vastly more successful than any other military jet project of South Asia. Tejas is a failure.

Pakistan's program management and planning have been superior to India's inferior, and rather backward approach.

Pakistan exploited China's superior industrial knowledge/base to its own benefit, and produced a very potent platform for its air force with having complete access to all the technology, source codes, and weapon-integration of the fighter jet.

In modern world, you rely on specialization in global market.

East Asians learned it early on, and sky-rocketed.

Arab World is learning it now..

Indians also need to learn that making a jet own their own rather than collaboration was a stupid mistake.

Turkey started with collaboration, then transfer of technology for F-16s, then becoming a partner in F-35 program...only after all of decades of learning and hands-on experience, we are planning to go towards our indigenous fighter jet (which, again, will involve collaboration with top foreign companies/countries as well).

jf-17 is not superior. and you don't have any idea about that JF-17.
the JF-17 is noting but a Chinese jet assembled in Pakistan by ToT. the ToT is not even a deep one, they just assemble components manufactured in china. the only "made in pakistan" in that jet is the pilot, all other parts are made in china, russia, Europe. don't compare the production of tajes with JF-17. tajes is developed in india, designed and developed by indian scientists, if you want then compare with the production of SU 30mki with production of jf-17. because both are manufactured under ToT. but the mki have more indian components than jf-17 have pakistani one. india manufacture every part of mki in india through deep ToT. even the engine is manufactured in india. the cockpit disply and some parts of avionics in mki are developed in india(not by ToT but through R&D). but other than pilot there is noting pakistani in the jf-17.

Designing, developing and testing of jf-17 was done by Chinese pilots and Chinese company... pak pilots were not even 100 miles near to it.

The first prototype, PT-01, was rolled out on 31 May 2003 from Chengdu aircraft Corporation. then it was transferred to the Chengdu Flight Test Centre by June 2003 to be prepared for the maiden flight and test flown by Chinese test pilots.

pakistan get its 1st jf-17 from china in March 2, 2007 in a dismantled state. and flown in march 10.

Elaborating on the JF-17’s induction schedule, the Air chief said the PAF had acquired two planes on March 2. These two aircraft sailed the Pakistan’s skies on March 10 for the first time. He said the biggest challenge after assembling the jets was to make the fighter’s first public appearance on March 23 a great success.
JF-17 engine row resolved: Air chief

Pakistan has begun the final assembly of the first Chengdu Aircraft/Pakistan Aeronautical Complex JF-17 fighter to be produced in the country, and aims to have the first flight by end-2009.

so what part of JF-17 is pakistani made?? noting.... that JF-17 was developed by china, what pkistan did was just assemble it in PAC.
so those who are trying to compare with the production of tajes should know that deference b/w manufactured under ToT and developing and manufacturing within the country.

Aise hi chalta raha to Tejas ki gaddi mai mera barat ayga...:lol:Anyway congrats to Pakistan.

Enjoy your trolling...... Let me know when you are finished....

ok I am finished after this
