As long as the governing body of these Madrassas are providing adequate schooling without any indoctrination of intolerant or extremist behavior, then they should not be a problem at all. Infact, Madrassa's can be a effectively used to educate our burgeoning young populace.

Madrassas are basically schools, and with the right curriculum and progressive teachers, it could be a great source of education for poorer classes. This is where the government could come in and facilitate access for Madrassa's to a better curriculum, one that concentrates on the positive aspects of education and our religion itself.

Nothing wrong with the madrassas ..but its the thugs who are exploiting them!

Madrasah is a religious school , nothing is wrong with it as long as it is not used to store weapons(like lal masjid and others). they must be under the strict control of the gov no personal or partisan madrasah's shoud be allowed.

Madrasah is a religious school ...

A little research reveals that the current system of madaaris was established to provide state-officers (judges, documenters, khutabaa2 etc) i.e. civil servants to the state.

Now that the state ain't there, ain't no need for formative institutions for its officers.

Again, these graduates are probably not recognized by the CSS, so they'll never end up being employed, except in the auqaaf.

Bring The State Back.

Islamic banking is a science which has become the specialty of Madaris. Combining the sharias laws on economics and the modern banking practices.Darul uloom karachi is among the best in the world if not the best. They are constantly evolving this system. computer is wide spread now. Almost every reasonable madrassa has got a website and they are offering basic courses.
