. . . . . .
Looks like m256.
This is difficult to tell from the pictures alone. It could be a 105 mm variant. Below is an example.

And looks like its Muzzle Reference System was taken off in our trials. Not sure why they did this.

M256 120 mm gun:-

Muzzle Reference System on M256 120 mm gun:-

The device on the end of the gun tube is the vehicle's muzzle reference system. This allows the gunner and ballistic computer to account for droop in the main gun's barrel caused by uneven heating. The thermal shroud on the barrel was intended to help alleviate this problem.

Chuckles..

Well, old story. Perhaps the unit dispatched to Pakistan was not optimized for harsh desert conditions at the time. Understandable, since Operation Desert Storm took place about 3 years later. They optimized their own for operations in diverse environments over time.

And not sure why MRS was taken off from the main gun during trials. What else was missing in this unit? Americans are notorious for dumping-down export models.

We didn't trialed it repeatedly either! Closed its chapter after death of Zia.

There were two things 1) failed performance 2) overweight tank for local env put 60/70 ton tank on 15/20 ton transporter that’s was 80-90 tons and most standard bridges locally were 60-70 ton load bearing so logics did not work out as well plus add fuel guzzling jet engine and price, it was no go for Pak to begin with

Sources say that the Abrams missed all 10 targets
This claim was in a [comedy] novel named "A Case of Exploding Mangoes." Zero credibility.

Assuming that an M1 Abrams variant is functioning correctly; if you put an experienced crew in it, it is unlikely to miss any target. If the M1 Abrams variant have M256 120 mm gun; even better. M256 120 mm gun have excellent stabilization mechanism and is accurate enough to engage distant targets (over 2000 KM away) while on the move.

If you put an inexperienced crew in it, then their is chance of failing to hit some challenging targets due to lack of familiarity with internal systems. Alternatively, the trials were botched or the unit malfunctioned.
