India’s Mangalyaan Is ‘Getting Better’ at Sending Pictures From Mars - India Real Time - WSJ
India’s Mars orbiter Mangalyaan has sent a second picture taken during its journey around the red planet.
The picture, this time taken from an altitude of 8,449 kilometers with the Mars color camera, was released by the spacecraft’s verified Twitter account with the endearing message “I’m getting better at it. No pressure.”
@MarsObiter started tweeting minutes after the Indian Space Research Organization confirmed its maiden mission to Mars was a success. On Friday, the account had more than a 100,000 followers and was itself following and messaging the Twitter accounts of other satellites already circling Mars.
@MarsOrbiter is following 11 Twitter accounts including NASA’s Maven, Voyager and Curiosity Rover.
