Investigations in the alleged ISIS terror module operating in India revealed that Ghaus Mohammed Khan was the leader of the group planning attacks in the country. According to a report by India Today, Ghaus Mohammed Khan was an officer in the Indian Airforce till 1993 and is currently absconding. Earlier yesterday, the Anti-Terrorist Squad managed to kill the terrorist hiding inside a house in Thaklurganj area of Lucknow after 10 hours of long battle. However, it was the Counter Intelligence Cell of the Telangana Police that tracked, monitored and intercepted calls and messages of the suspected terrorists for months. According to the IE, all the module members, including the slain, Saifullah, who was identified as their leader were reported to have been under electronic surveillance for months.

Although, their conversations never revealed anything about a plan to bomb the Bhopal-Ujjain Passenger train on Tuesday. Following the bomb going off on the train, the CIC informed the MP and UP DGPs about the identities and the locations of the terrorists. This led to the arrest of several members of the module in UP and MP. Meanwhile, an air of terror has been created due to the recent bomb blast and the encounter in Lucknow over the suspected plans of terror strikes around Holi. Earlier yesterday, Sartaj, father of slain terrorist Saifullah refused to receive the body of his deceased son. Speaking to reporters, Sartaj said that his son’s actions were not in favor of the country and they would not accept the body of such a traitor. Speaking about Saifullah, his aid that the terrorist had left home after he had beat him up for not working. Saifullah had then called home last Monday, saying that he was going to Saudi Arabia.

Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) Inspector General Aseem Arun revealed that the neutralized terrorist was a member of the ISIS Khorasan Module. “We got the intelligence from a sister agency that a person named Saifullah affiliated to ISIS is hiding in a residential area in Lucknow. In 2016, the NIA had taken down Khalid Rizwan, as a part of a nationwide mission against the IS, resulting in the arrest of more than 20 people. In October 2016, the CIC had decoded texts between 6 men in Kerala recruited by an IS handler to plan terrorist attacks. In June 2016, the Telangana Police had provided the Nia with inputs to bust an IS terror module preparing to attack various police stations in Hyderabad.
