What's new

Lt Gen Zubair Hayat fits the bill for Nawaz Sherif as new COAS

One thing is sure, whoever becomes COAS, the first thing on his mind will be that he has big shoes to fill. Seldom in the past has a COAS become a public figure (unless he became Marshal Law administrator that is), even more so, none of them was given the stature of a public hero. This means that 180 million pairs of eyes will be focused on the guy who will be replacing arguably the most popular leader after Quaid-e-Azam and maybe Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. He will have no margin for error or to create any political affiliations.

One more thing, if NS has even a pint of brain he will not take another jab at the army by not appointing the man most favored by them. With Madam Mariam's neck already on the line for the Dawngate case, i think he will have the common sense to appoint Gen. Ashfaq as the next COAS.

I know. he has that bulldozer type personality .

. . .
As long as he doesn't turn out to be another wannabe tyrant, obsessed with daily praises from left, right and centre like his predecessors, he will do.

Is USA still a factor in selecting the Chief?

.
Corrupt politicians are searching for another Gen. Kayani.

. . .
amen to that

Sir, what you make if it now as the Chief is chosen?

My words in advance, before your reply, as I said somewhere else that this is not the moment to discuss as COAS QJB is whether Qadiyani or not that obviously he is not but let us pray that he may not turn out to be the Kiyani.

Sorry for intervening in your convo........but to add a point.......The way pro govt newspapers (geo) and even govt ppl are praising him, for being a firm believer of civilian supremacy and how everything will be normal, as far as civil mil relations are concerned and how he is a very easy going person.., and these are the reasons, why is he chosen over Gen Ashfaq Nadem, who was blunt, all these points indicate to him being anotherone similar to Gen Kiyani...

AND Asif Zardari who didnt dare to return in Gen Raheel Sharif's era after tht eent se eent bajana speech, has telephoned Gen Qamar Bajwa and congratulated him..and CM Sindh also... So this also tells us something

I am not buying into Geo and OMLn media houses under command of Prince and princess at all as it could a applied tool to play the psych game in advance. Musharraf too was chosen by NS in such parameters.

By the body language, it is like humble, calm, chill man but what I want that instead of praise for me by the rival, I want them to fear me like a hell that none dares to ever dream about something here and till then, I am professional and have my way of Service.

The rest about him....... People will see in coming days or months so let's pray. Can't say more.
