That is so sad to hear.. You often hear such tales. I myself and am owner of 4 cats and 2 dogs.. Man dogs loyalty and response is just amazing. The way they greet you when you come home. Always a greet to make you feel that you are the most important person in their lives and how happy they are to see you and how they cherish every second they spend with you....

Mr. Jamahir, I didn't get what does Libya, Gaddafi, Courage has to do with the subject of this thread.

What if you have both cat and dog and have kept both for years?

Relationships with cats is a relationship of equals, there is no master - pet dynamic.

If the cat is the size of a tiger, I would worry about my own safety around my own cat. If my dog is the size of a prehistory cave bear I wouldnt feel in any danger at all.

mastan saheb, dog is the same everwhere... surely you know of a california incident from 2014 where a neighbor's dog attacked a boy and the boy's family companion cat rushed to chase away the dog, all this while ensuring that the boy was okay... vid here[1].

cats are tolerant and kind creatures... you will have seen vids of them being so patient with human babies.

above is of course a unpleasant analogy when talking of dogs but when cat and dog live in the same house it is the cat that is tolerating the dog, even when the cat knows that the dog can show its brutal dog form anytime.

as you observed, the cat is a equal of the human... also, the cat is a independent creature, not needing the human for his/her survival... therefore it is affection, trust, kindness and loyalty that bonds a cat to his/her human companion.

bigger cats can also form these bonds with humans - we have seen vids of cheetahs do this and in indian history was the siyaghosh ( the caracal cat )[1]...

Why is this important?

Over the years, India has lost some of it's magnificent wildlife. The Indian Caracal, is a medium sized cat that is fast approaching extinction. Sharing the same history like the Cheetah, this cat was once trained by the Mughal's to hunt birds and other small prey.

There are an estimated 200 Caracals left in India, and the major reason behind it's falling numbers is the loss of natural habitat.

since you mention "a cat the size of the tiger" why not we speak about the tigers at a buddhist monastery[2] in thailand...

they are being so cat... more pictures in the source... such can happen. *shrug*

as for dogs, they are dangerous no matter what size.

Two years back - Two snatchers on Bike tried to snatch my Hand Bag - I held on to it & got dragged into the middle of Road, no men - women came to my rescue. But Stray Dogs started Barking at them - then only they ran away. I had shared this incident in past with Armstrong.

Other members have posted such incidents wherein Dog's have sacrificed there lives for Human Beings.

The Diesel - French Dog died because Female Sucide Bomber blew herself after Paris Attack - An other example of Dog Sacrificing his life for Humans.

Now, I'm applying your Logic to the Situation'

A. Men attacked me - Hence, all men should be Eradicated.

B. People of certain community carried out Terrorist Attacks in Paris. They all should be Eradicated.

C. Human Beings are killing Human Beings since Centuries - Shall all human beings be Eradicated?

D. @jamahir Cat's Kill Birds, Insects etc. Cat's should be Erradiated, don't they?

If your answer is NO, then why should Dogs be Eradicated?
