I think 1500 Posts would be a good compromise. I never understood how we went from 700 to the present requirement of 2000 posts. For most people 2000 posts can take as much as a year to two years. That might be a bit too much.

I don't think 6 month time frame is a good idea because there are some members who don't post regularly or visit PDF once or twicea month.
It would be better if admin lowers the post count to 1000-1200 posts to be able to send PM

When I first posted here, I never really socialized. I just put in my two cents and kept it moving.
