LAHORE: The convoy of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif is heading towards GPO chowk after crushing the barricades placed by administration. The participants of Nawaz’s convoy are busy in removing obstacles. According to latest reports, Sharif’s convoy has crossed the Kalma chowk after removing the barriers put by police.

Police shelling turns Mall Road into battleground

LAHORE: Police shelling on the workers of Jamaat-i-Islami(JI) has turned Mall Road of Lahore into battle ground.

Police started shelling when Ameer JI Punjab Liquat Baloch was heading towards GPO chowk. Women were also affected by the shelling. Police baton charge wounded several protestors.

Protest’ll not be ended by sealing cities: Kurd

QUETTA: President Supreme Court Bar Association Ali Ahmed Kurd said that all roads of Pakistan have been sealed, hostels have been vacated and the government has paralyzed the life all over the country.

Addressing a press conference here today, he said that a change has come in the country due to lawyers and civil society.

Ali Ahmed Kurd said that we are still present on roads for supremacy of the constitution and the law and will remain at the sit-in until Iftikhar Chaudhry is not restored.

He said that there was no road on which heavy contingents of police were not deployed. Our companions have been arrested from all parts of the country and the lawyers were off-loaded from planes.

Kurd said that the protest would not be ended by sealing the cities. Those who have become the rulers because of the lawyers are taking undemocratic steps.

He said the lawyers are peaceful despite the provocative actions by the government.

He stressed that a peaceful protest is our legal right and we are being deprived of this right.

Hundreds of women reach Islamabad: Shazia Aurangzeb

PESHAWAR: Secretary information PML (N) Women’s Wing Shazia Aurangzeb said here today that hundreds of women from NWFP have reached Islamabad to take part in long march.

Talking with Geo News, Shazia Aurangzeb said that the process of women’s proceeding from the province was started from Thursday and more than 250 women have so far reached Islamabad.

She said that further two thousand women would reach Islamabad by Sunday night or Monday morning.

Yes he got out of his house and succeeded in reaching GPO chowk where he is expected to address the protesters. Police failed to block sea of people.

Wow, its true. Lar mar k nikaal hi lia. People had been battling with the police in getting him out. Again it was a house arrest without a warrant! It was hostage taking and not house arrest!

Zardari cannot stop this, PPP should save the nation from further strife and abandon support of crooks in presidency!

LAHORE: The convoy of chief of PML-N Nawaz Sharif has reached Ichar after breaking the barricades placed by Punjab administration.

Local residents of the Ichra gave warm welcome to Mian Nawaz Sharif.

I am not so sure about this Asim. It seems that Pakistanis have thick skin and really really bad memory. Remember the animation movie 'Finding Nemo'. Dory suffers from short-term memory loss. We are like Dory, suffering with short term memory loss.

I agree qsaark that many of our countrymen are oblivious to the consequences of our action or inaction, a proof of this is the many people flying kites close to my house and celebrating basant as i write.

However; many people are now more conscious than they ever were.
Most of people want a positive change and are expressing it in whatever manner they can.

I think that all these troubles may yet lead to the forging of a nation.
