Lockheed Martin Corp has won a $1 billion contract from the US Air Force for production of 32 C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, the US Department of Defense announced Wednesday.
As per the terms of the contract, Lockheed Martin will provide 13 C-130J-30, five HC-130J, 11 MC-130J, two KC-130J and one U.S. Coast Guard HC-130J aircraft.
Work is expected to be complete by April 30, 2020.
Earlier this year, Lockheed announced that it had reached a verbal agreement with the U.S. Air Force for a five-year contract to build up to 83 C-130J Super Hercules transport planes for the Air Force, Coast Guard and Marine Corps through 2020.
