Loan waivers worth 19 paise, 50 paise given to farmers in UP INDIA

Etawah, Uttar Pradesh: Farmers in the district of Etawah of Uttar Pradesh have received loan waivers worth 19 paise, 50 paise.

The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government had announced the waiver on loans up to Rs. 1 lakh. But, with the loud promises in Etawah district, the poor farmers were handed over with the certificate of waiving off 19 and 50 paise.

“The government waived only 19 paise. I have spent a lot till now, have visited a number of officials, but it’s sad that I have only received 19 paise of relief,” said a farmer Ishwar Dayal, as reported by Catch News.

Dayal added that this move has made the village laugh at them. “We don’t know who is gaining, but we are certainly not gaining anything,” he added.

“Had I known this earlier, I wouldn’t have expected anything from the government. I would have managed something on my own,” he furthered.

Another farmer Lalaram received a compensation of 50 paise from the government.
“We are very sad with this. It would have been better had they not given anything,” he said.

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government had promised to waive off Rs. 30,729 crore worth loan amount of the small and marginal farmers of the state.The decision was proposed to be benefit 2 crores 15 lakh farmers of the state.

Along with this, the government had also decided to forego Non-Performing Assets (NPA) worth Rs. 5,630 crore of 8,00,000 farmers.

Cheques of Rs 0.68 sent to PM Modi by farmers on his b’day

Kurnool: On his 68th birthday (September, 17), farmers of Kurnool district sent thousands of cheques bearing an amount of Rs 0.68 to Prime Minister Modi in a protest. The move is a result of the continuous negligence of the government.

Thousands of cheques were collected by Rayalaseema Saguneeti Sadhana Samithi (RSSS) to be presented to the PM.

According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, RSSS president Bojja Dasarah Reddy said that contrary to its image of a water-starved region, major rivers such as Krishna and Penna as well as their tributaries Tungabhadra, Vedavati, Handri and Chitravathi, Kundu, Bahuda carry well over 1,000 tmc ft of water each year to the region.

Due to the biased allocation of water, the region faces severe drought on account of insufficient irrigation infrastructure, despite having access to a large amount, he added.

He said that to develop the backward region, a special development package was announced on lines of the Koraput-Bolangir-Kalahand special plan in Odisha and the Bundelkhand special package in Madhya Pradesh in the AP State Bifurcation Act.

The bifurcation Act also predicted completing ongoing projects like Handri-Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, the steel plant at Kadapa, railway zone at Guntakal, a number of educational institutes including an agricultural University and health institutes, Reddy added.

Care to explain the logic behind it?

Loan waver money is not given to farmers. The amount is paid against the loan directly to banks. So, there are farmer loan accounts that have been paid over Rs 50000 rupees & there have been accounts that have been paid 50 paise because that was balance on the loan account.

No point debating because, the "agenda" is self evident.

Yes sir, all of then are of different people from different banks.
Yet, they all have the same writing on the checks. Must be some out of the world secular coincidence.

The Loan waiver is only for farmers who DID NOT PAY the loan back.

Those who paid back the loan, only the pending amount was waived off. And in some case its only a few paise to a few rupees.
