List of 1971 Bangladesh war “traitors” in the offing

well that's all that she's doing...just blackmailing the opposition. she may well prove to be another bhutto if the Bangladeshi people don't put her in her place.
Yes finally you understand that it's just blackmailing and nothing against Pakistan. However probably this is the last term of Hasina. By any chance if she want another term , then it's different.

don't be so sure. Our close family friends & neighbors are Bangladeshis & as per them, hasina is fast starting to look more like the head of a mafia than an elected leader. I haven't been their myself but there is definitely an intimidation factor at play.

Indeed she is more like Mafia leader . And that's the reason I like her . South Asians ( Specially Bangladeshi) exactly need such leader to rule them.

Actually Bangladesh had been ruled by Mafia leader types ruler from the very beginning. TBH sheikh Mujib was the only exception and that's the reason he was murdered by his party traitors and being demonized for some people later days .

For the bad works of his party goons ,some people blame him. If he was able to control his party goons with iron fist , he wouldn't be dead .

People in Bangladesh join in political party with a dirty intention and that I loot. If you loke a decent mafia leader you can control your party goons .

If you are bad mafia leaders ( like Khaleda Zia ) you will make shoes with the skin of common people and later rot in jail.

nah dude...trust me, a mafia leader is sure to suffocate the country's true political potential & is certain open the road to military intervention.

and who would you consider as far sighted geniuses?

People who are aware of the fact that their votes don't matter, Bangladesh needs more people like these.

All Bangladeshis on this forum are aware of this fact : our votes don't matter.

And it doesn't really bother us, as long as the economy grows and people continue to be pulled out of back breaking poverty, I couldn't care less who is at the throne.

Votes don't matter, the one who counts them matters.

We don't want this Western construct of 'Democracy' in our country, it's designed for their countries with their educated and rational population, doesn't work here.

Democracy is not for Bangladesh, We needn't have it.

We just achieved a new high of 2060 USD per capita income (a commendable achievement, If you look at how poor we were in the 70s), what have the 'democracies' in the region achieved ?

Our people live better and longer lives than those in the world largest democracy next door.

@GumNaam, I abhor democracy because we saw the massacre of democracy .It only brought disaster for Bangladesh.

Besides I don't think that democracy is something like Quran sharif or bible or any sacred scripture that people can't oppose it .

Democracy should bring order and peace for people. But if it turns into a gangrene ,then you even have to cut your own body part to save yourself.

If the gangrene continued ,Bangladesh would be broken in to two pieces to be honest.

@Atlas @DalalErMaNodi democracy or not is irrelevant. in fact, economy too is irrelevant. good times come and go, as Allah says in The Holy Quran, he tests us with good times and bad times. what matters is justice. as Hazrat Ali ra said, a government based on kuffar can survive but a government based on injustice & cruelty can never survive. I hope your pm haseena ensures justice for the masses.

While I agree, I must put things into perspective.

Bangladesh was, is and will remain a poor country for decades to come, perhaps not as poor as its neighbours but poor all the same.

Poor countries are plagued by corruption and injustice, indeed the two go hand in hand.

For Bangladesh, Our priorities are ensuring that everyone has enough to eat, a place to stay, a livelihood and access to a relatively respectable level of Education.

All of these thing trump the need for "Justice".

The poor folks who live on footpaths care not for justice but for the next Government handout.

We will get rid of corruption and injustices, but all in good time, we aren't in a rush.

What we are in a rush to do, is putting food on everyone's table.

The need for justice is a luxury, what good is justice when you sleep without having eaten a filling meal ?

All in good time.

I sincerely hope BCL makes the list.

Razakars may have unsuccessfully tried to prevent the creation of Bangladesh.

But BCL actively impedes the growth of Bangladesh. They have done so quiet successfully.

Razakar = Bangladesh Chattra League = Besha Khaki'r Chele der dol.

They haven't been making the news with as much frequency these days, due to Corona, they're all cooked up at home but make no mistake these filthy swine are a 100 times worse than the uniformed hit squad that is Bangladesh Police.

Remember Abrar Fahad.

Apologies for my language, I can't help it, I've had a few run-ins with BCL back in my DU days.
If today, a faction of Bangladeshi society demands liberation, will you fight for them or against them?

Won't happen, So the question is fictitious.

Bangladesh by its very design is immune to such things, something our neighbours very much envy.

You'll soon see more people from elsewhere trying to join Bangladesh then you will see secessionists in Bangladesh.

Hell, even the non-Bengali tribals are now integrating themselves into our society, BJP-RSS burst their India is better bubble.

We are the only country in the region who will never suffer from this issue but even so I wish the government worked doubly as hard to help integrate the tribals into our society but as they're tribals, some of them want to be left alone and that is fine; do your thing in your little corner of the country.
