A three-year-old girl has been left needing 15 stitches after
a ‘service’ pit bull bit her face during a vicious attack.
Cleveratta Gordon-Waldroup said her daughter, Ronin Waldroup, was in tears as the dog, which was wearing a service dog coat, attacked the little girl at a Texas restaurant on Saturday (local time).
Ronin walked a few steps ahead of her parents to get some chicken nuggets and
came face-to-face with the animal.

Family friend Kimberly Parker witnessed the attack.
"It had a hold of her face shook her. The lady pulled on the leash, the dog released her and she just dropped like a rag doll,” she told Fox45 News.
As Ms Gordon-Waldroup assessed her child to see if she was ok, she says the woman and her dog left the restaurant in a hurry.
“The owner of the dog decided to run from the scene of the crime,” Ms Gordon-Waldroup said.

Ronin was taken to hospital and had 15 stitches sewn into her face.
Doctors told her parents she would have minimal scarring but would need to see a plastic surgeon.
Ms Gordon-Waldroup has started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help pay for her daughter’s medical bills and track down the owner of the dog.
“I'm begging for justice for my little girl,” she wrote on the page that has so far raised over $13,500.
‘Mummy, I’m ugly’
A heartbroken Ms Gordon-Waldroup told Fox45 she recently walked in on her daughter smothering makeup over her face in an effort to hide the wounds on her face.
“She's trying to put makeup on her face when I asked her why she's doing that. For a three-year-old to turn to me and say, 'Mommy, I'm ugly' - It's earth-shattering,” she said.
Ms Gordon-Waldroup said she doesn’t believe the dog who attacked her daughter was a certified service dog and suspects the pet owner had simply placed a false coat on so she could bring it inside the restaurant.
“We love service animals of all breeds and sizes but as we are going through this we are finding more information that just about anyone can purchase a service animal vest online or wherever to have their pet out in public,” she wrote on GoFundMe.

After Ronin’s medical bills are paid for, Ms Gordon-Waldroup will use the rest of the money toward attempting to change the laws surrounding service animal registration.
“We will be proactive in changing the laws for service animals and training…whether we have to go through the courts system or take it all the way up to the lawmakers we know that with proper legal action we can change the course of action for future circumstances,” she wrote
Local police have now identified the dog’s owner and are investigating the incident.

Mkombozi’s story is legendary in Kenya and worldwide. The African dog lived happily at the Kenya SPCA where she spent her time sleeping in a soft bed and teaching school children about animal welfare until she passed away in 2014. But back in 2005, Mkombozi became famous for saving an abandoned newborn baby.
Kenya SPCA
The heroic dog found the 2-day-old baby wrapped in rags in Nairobi’s Ngong Forest near a racetrack in a poverty-stricken area where she was scavenging for food. Mkombozi lived at a compound with a family who looked after her. They fed her what they could, but she would often go out looking for more food for herself. The family had children and she was always curious when the babies were born, so she was familiar with babies crying.

Mkombozi picked up the abandoned baby and was seen crossing a busy road and weaving through traffic with a bundle, before disappearing and making her way back to her shack, where she was nursing her puppies. The infant and dog were soon discovered by the family’s two children, who heard the sound of a baby crying near their wooden shack, and alerted their parents. Aggrey Mwalimu, mother of the boys, found the baby lying next to the dog and a puppy.
The baby girl was taken to the hospital, where she spent several weeks recovering in intensive care. Sadly, newborns are abandoned by mothers because of extreme poverty and their inability to care for the children. Most people who abandon babies are never located.

After her last surviving puppy died, Mkombozi was taken in by the
Kenya SPCA. The staff named her Mkombozi, which is swahili word for ‘Savior’. At first Mkombozi wasn’t overly happy to see her rescuers. Jean Gilchrist, executive director of the KSPCA recounted: “She wasn’t happy when we all poured into the compound. She decided to leave, but kids in the compound brought her back for the bath because she was full of ticks.”

The tan short-haired mixed breed was heavy with milk from nursing. She was bathed and de-wormed and taken to the shelter. After the story got out about Mkombozi’s heroic actions, Mkombozi’s family was given some money for school fees and food by Good Samaritans.
Kenya SPCA
After arriving at the SPCA, Mkombozi simply loved to hang out and relax. She loved being with children and liked being at the shelter where she couldjust relax and hang out with her friends.
Kenya SPCA
As for why Mkombozi saved the baby, Gilchrist speculated that the dog was possibly trying to care for the baby because most of her puppies had died. “She reckoned it was a young animal and possibly wanted to bring it up,” Gilchrist guessed. “It is something to do with the canine-human bond. Other dogs might have just left her there to die. … She’s obviously a very special dog,” Gilchrist added. “She is a very street-wise dog, that is for sure. The other dogs in the compound did not look very well, but she is the fattest of them all – she obviously knows how to look after herself.”

The
KSPCA decided to adopt Mkombozi soon after, putting Mkombozi’s days of scavenging for food to an end. As for the baby girl, she was named “Angel” and later “Angela” and was adopted by a loving family. Were it not for Mkombozi’s kindness and heroic act, Angel would not be alive today.

A dog with only three legs has rescued a newborn
baby that was buried alive – reportedly by its teenage mother.
Ping Pong is being hailed a hero in
Thailand for saving the child whose 15-year-old mother was believed to have been hiding her pregnancy from her parents.
The dog was barking and scratching at dirt by a field, alerting his owner, who then found an infant’s leg sticking up.
Locals rushed the 5.2lb baby to hospital, where doctors cleaned him up and declared he was healthy.
Police said they had arrested the mother and charged her with child abandonment and attempted murder.

The girl’s parents have offered to raise the baby although authorities have not yet decided whether to allow that.
Lt Col Panuwat Puttakam, of Chum Phuang police station, told the
Bangkok Post that although the girl was underage, police were bound by law to charge her and she would be interrogated in the presence of child service workers.

“The girl is now in the care of a psychologist and her parents because she is in great fear. She regrets what she did and said she acted on impulse without thinking it through. She feared her parents would find out she had been pregnant,” the officer said.
The teenager will also be assessed for her
mental health.
“Police officers are preparing to prosecute the mother but she is also a child and we must consider her mind and be professional. It is important that she is nurtured and treated fairly,” said Wichian Chantharanothai, governor of the Nakhon Ratchasima area.
He said the baby survived because he was buried only shallowly.

Ping Pong’s owner, Usa Nisaikha, said the dog lost the use of a leg when it was hit by a car.
“I kept him because he’s so loyal and obedient, and always helps me out when I go to the fields to tend to my cattle. He’s loved by the entire village. It’s amazing,” he said.

Dog saves baby from abusive babysitter
By DogTime Staff
FacebookTwitterRedditEmail
A
Charleston,
S.C., baby boy is safe and his family’s dog hailed a hero after the pooch alerted the boy’s parents about an abusive babysitter.
Killian, Benjamin, and Finn Jordan; babysitter Alexis Khan (inset) has pled guilty to assault and battery.
New parents Benjamin and Hope Jordan were very thorough in their search for a babysitter for their infant son, Finn. After a background check on 22-year-old Alexis Khan came up clean, the Jordans thought they’d found a responsible person to care for their baby while they were at work.
Little did they know the exact opposite was true, that Khan would verbally and physically abuse their 7-month-old son for nearly five months before she was caught. Thanks to the family’s dog,
Labrador Retriever–
German Shepherd mix
Killian, Khan is now behind bars where she belongs.
Killian was the only witness to the abuse Finn suffered at the hands of his babysitter, and the loyal Lab mix wasn’t afraid to make his
feelings about Alexis Khan known to his owners. Whenever Khan entered the Jordan’s house, Killian would growl and stand between her and little Finn, seemingly defending the baby from his babysitter. Benjamin and Hope were flabbergasted.
“About five months into her being our baby sitter, we started to notice that our dog was very protective of our son when she would come in the door,” Benjamin tells
WCSC. “He was very
aggressive towards her and a few times we actually had to physically restrain our dog from going towards her.”
Benjamin and Hope could not believe their dog, who acted warm and friendly towards everyone else he’d ever met, behaved in such an unusual manner around the babysitter.
Taking a page from
Lassie’s book, Killian had persistently tried to warn Finn’s parents about the babysitter’s abusive behavior. Finally, Benjamin and Hope could no longer ignore what Killian was trying so desperately to convey. Hope suggested to her husband they hide an iPhone beneath the sofa one day, hoping to record what was going on in their home.
With the phone tucked out of sight, ready to capture the day’s events, Benjamin and Hope left for work. They wondered if perhaps Khan yelled at Killian in their absence, which would have been unacceptable. But the Jordans were not prepared to discover that the woman they’d trusted was acting violently towards their baby — and that’s exactly what they heard on the secret iPhone recording.
“It started with cussing,” Benjamin explains. “Then you hear slap noises and his crying changes from a distress cry to a pain cry. I just wanted to reach through the audio tape, go back in time and just grab him up.”
The concerned parents even heard what they believed to be the sounds of Khan shaking Finn on the recording — something that could have easily killed or permanently disabled their son.
“To know that five months I had handed my child to a monster, not knowing what was going on in my house for that day,” Benjamin says in disbelief.
Khan has since pled guilty to assault and battery in a Charleston Circuit Court. She now must serve 1 to 3 years in prison for abusing Finn. She will be up for parole in 1 year but must remain on a child abuse registry upon release.
Benjamin believes if it weren’t for Killian, Finn might have lost his young life at the hands of his violent babysitter.
“Had our dog not alerted us to the trouble, had my wife’s instincts not said we need to make something happen, it could have been Finn that was killed by the babysitter,” Benjamin says. “You never know.”
Benjamin hopes his family’s story will give other parents pause and encourage them not to ignore any signs that their kids could be in danger — especially if those signs are coming from a faithful family pet.
“He is a very personable dog so for him to show aggression toward anyone is a sign that something was wrong,” Benjamin tells
Fox News of hero dog Killian. “We hope other parents … can learn from our lesson.”

Family Dog Saves Baby Put in Drum Barrel Full of Water by Armed Robbers
DogHeirs Team News
Kesha the dog became the family hero after helping her guardian find her one-year-old daughter who had been placed in a drum with water during a robbery in Cuiabá, Brazil.
According to
G1, armed robbers snatched the baby from her mother’s arms after the girl began crying.
Angered by the baby’s crying, the thieves allegedly tried to drown the child in a drum barrel filled with water. The assailants fled without stealing anything.
As the mother frantically tried to find her baby, Kesha lead her directly to the drum where her child was trapped inside.
The mother said that she was returning from church with her daughter in a stroller when she saw two men at the door of her home. They were armed and demanded to be let inside. When her daughter began crying she moved to pick her up, but one of the robbers grabbed the baby from her and took her out of the room while the other suspect locked the mother in a room.
The robbers ransacked the cupboards and wardrobes, but then fled. However, before leaving the home, the robbers apparently went to the bottom part of the house, where there was a drum of about 100 litres, which was full of water. The robbers appear to have attempted to muffle the sounds of the toddler’s crying by placing her inside the drum.
The girl’s mother immediately went in search of her daughter. The baby’s grandfather said it was the dog who saved his granddaughter’s life by leading his daughter to where she was trapped and submerged in the drum. He said, “The dog was our salvation because my daughter thought [the robbers] had taken her [the baby] because she stopped crying, but then Kesha went crazy,” he said.
“My daughter went to the front of the house and saw only the bad guys running away and heard no more crying,” the grandfather explained. “Meanwhile, the dog was desperate, barking at my daughter. She ran to the drum and began to scratch it and then would come back to bark at her [his daughter].”
The one-year-old was freed and is doing well.
G1 reported that Military Police are investigating the matter. Lieutenant Colonel of Police, Paul Serbija said, “There was an attempted burglary that turned into an attempted murder of a minor. It’s really unusual in the capital [Mato Grosso].” As no items of value were stolen, police suspect something must have frightened the armed intruders off before they could steal anything.
The baby’s mother could not identify any of the suspects. Police still have no information about the identity of the assailants.

The attack, which took place in the Guaratuba neighborhood of Bertioga on the morning of Friday, November 27, has left Typhoon hospitalized, but the seven-year-old family dog is said to be making a recovery.
According to local media, a jararaca snake that was said to be approximately six feet long was behind the attack.
Andressa da Silva dos Santos, 24, said that the snake might have attacked her 12-year-old sister if it wasn't for Typhoon.
