Levies official killed in attack on polio team in Bajaur Agency – The Express Tribune
How sick are the people who are killing team members who are trying to eradicate a crippling disease from Pakistan? Polio virus has been eradicated worldwide except for three countries and Pakistan is among them. It is sad to know the some 58 people including health workers and police providing security have been killed in militant attacks on polio vaccination teams since December 2012, while 125 new polio affected cases were reported for this year, which surpasses last year tally of 90 cases. World Health Organization has already issued warning for travelers from Pakistan, who have to carry a polio immunization certificate to travel overseas from Pakistan. The enemies of Pakistan do not want Pakistani children to grow into normal healthy adults. That is the only reason they attack polio teams, who risk their lives to save children from being crippled for life.
