Letter to Gov. Of Balochistan for direction on movement across Taftan border without Quarantine

A letter dated 7th march 2020, in which, additional Chief Secretary Balochistan asked provincial Government to provide clear direction on how to deal with different categories of people coming from Iran.
He clearly stated what he had been verbally ordered to do by Federal Health advisor and Southern command head.
This letter is a charge sheet against PTI government.

First of all this is 7th March when there are few cases and no one understand the Corona Virus.

Secondly letter clearly shows that managing quarantine facility was responsibility of commissioner so if it wasnt a detention camp and not quarantine then he had to made arrangements. He is not asking for any specific needs such as area required tents required facilities required. Do he expect chief secetary in Quetta to understand and recommend procedures in Taftan?

The meeting he is referring to was held on 21st to 23rd February. The first case was reported on 26th February. WIth only one case reported in a student and virtually had no information of the number of people to come or any hurdles that needs to be planned the general policy directions were given from federal government to be planned and executed by commissioner of the relevant border. However, the commissioner rather than asking these question in the meeting is reverting after 10 days for the job he was to do?

What federal health minister has to do with the level of quarantine facilities? Isnt the job of local commissioner to plan and execute the policy instructions?

So this is just a commissioner putting blame of mess on others.

Furthermore, it was thought at that time that virus has infected religious places and some universities only based on evidence available at that point of time. Neverthless screening was to be done for all. You can't penalize persons who took decision based on information available on 3 months earlier using information available today.

Secondly army controls taftan border entry and exit and not taftan district. Its responsibility of commissioner to facilitate and implement government procedures in Taftan district and not army.

Furthermore, if army is providing the facilities to this inhabitated land then its due to incompetency of the bureaucracy there. Its not a job of army, MPA or MNA to do these things. As apparent in his own later even after 10 days he is asking for instructions for Quetta what to do rather than recommending some steps and facilities required to control the situation.

Kindly stop putting blame everything on people sitting in parliament. Where in history of Pakistan government has acted so effeciently that for a disease with one patient in Pakistan a federal health visited a barren land of Taftan and try to setup some process to stop the spread? Give me one such example.

All of us are human we can try with our best of abilities but no one knows at that point of time future outlook of corona. Corona was coming from every order and every plane at that point of time we didnt know as symptoms starts appearing only after 7 days. Country gets into complete lock down in next 20 days.

Had they decided to close all borders and all flight operations based on these 3 patients who would have supported them? People like you would have been ridiculing and criticizing them for spreading joblessness in people based on just 3 people disease.

Sorry sir to hurt your feelings but you are just quoting Pakistan's corona stats.
There was already corona outbreak in Iran.
If army and Health minister were not responsible why they gave verbal orders?
On the other hand, students were not taken out of China due to Covid outbreak.
Secondly, this letter was written on 7th march before anything major happened in Pakistan, ad. Sec. Was just asking for clear instructions how he is blaming someone?

Why categories made when there was outbreak in Iran and people were allowed to gin and out without being Quarantined?
If Federal gov and Army didn't have any jurisdiction why they were giving orders?

From your long explanation all i can get it is it was his responsibility and he failed and after failing he write letter to shift blame, but that is not the case there were no major outbreak in Pakistan till 7th of March. So, how can you say he failed and was shifting blame? What was his failure at that time?

It was the decision of iran. Government of Pakistan requested to hold people in iran like china but iran refused and start deporting people. Plus unlike students of china zaireen of iran had limited money so they also couldnt stay otherwise they could have starve. Unlike china (who were providing food to all people in wuhan) iran were not helping the foreigners.

In short china was supportive but iran was not.
