The only development projects like green line, KCR and Nallah upgrades is done by Federal. That too was provincial government responsibility after 18th amendment but like I said for the provincial government its only an extortion hub. Federal is bearing the entire load.

PM IMRAN LIKELY TO PERFORM GROUNDBREAKING OF MODERN KCR NEXT WEEK


KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to visit Karachi on September 11 to inaugurate several development projects in the metropolis.
According to sources, the prime minister during his visit will perform the groundbreaking of the modern Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project.
He will also chair a meeting at Governor House Karachi to review progress work on Karachi’s Green Line BRT project and other federally funded projects.
Sources told ARY News that PM Imran Khan will also hold meetings with different delegations during his upcoming visit to Karachi.

Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar last week had chaired a meeting to review the present status and pace of work on Karachi Circular Railway (KCR).
During the meeting, Asad Umar directed Pakistan Railways to fulfill all formalities at the earliest and ensure that all the necessary arrangements for the groundbreaking of KCR infrastructure were made by September 2021.
The secretary of Pakistan Railways informed the minister that the Karachi Circular Railway project was on track as per the timelines given by the ministry. He told the meeting that the KCR envisages the construction of a 43-km long world-class affordable mass transit system using environment-friendly electric trains.
The minister was also briefed on Freight Corridor from Keamari to Pipri Marshalling Yard.

Port Qasim to gift hybrid buses to KU, NED, other universities: Ali Zaidi

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi Sunday announced that Port Qasim will gift hybrid buses to the University of Karachi, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), SMC, and NED University.

Talking to journalists, Ali Zaidi said that the government will launch a new bus service between Port Qasim and the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) to facilitate the employees and people. In order to resolve the traffic issue in the metropolis, the minister said that they would construct bridges to ensure the free flow of traffic.

Responding to a question, Ali Zaidi said the government will not allow KPT land to be leased for pennies. Talking about port affairs, he said past governments had neglected the sector, adding that an internal audit of the department had not been conducted since 2010.

KPT’s workshop remained closed for the past 14 years, disclosed Zaidi.

Highlighting the importance of ports, the minister said that the economy of any country depends on them. The entire coastal area has encroached in Karachi, he added. The minister said that KPT is already facing an administrative crisis.

The minister announced the government's move to launch a new company named Pakistan Maritime Services under a public-private partnership model. The company will do business in local currency, he added.

The problem is simple

Federal Government , PTI & Imran Khan in Majority , gave Province of Sindh , 8 Billion Dollars in Last budget

For Whole Sindh : 8,000,000,000 USD (Including Karachi)

• Top Up for Karachi was an additional 3 Billion Dollar (3,000,000,000 USD)

Would imagine fixing the Transport with Purchase of 500-1000 buses should have been done long time ago before any attempt was made to create "Infrastructure for Bridges and Bus Stops"

1,000 Buses means , ability to transport 300,000 Passengers ( 1 Round Trip)
If bus makes 8 round trips in 8 hours ~ 2.4 Million Passengers transported in 8 hours in day time

If these Buses run on Electricity you can see how quickly we can reduce the Oil & Gas bill if 2.4 Million people daily start to use the Bus network , with new 1,000 Buses in Karachi Alone


Right now Majority of 2.4 Million People in Karachi alone , use motor bikes and thus consume oil / petrol / diesal

This creates 2 challenges

a) First the transport is not fixed , people ride on dangerous motor bikes
b) Import of Petrol/Oil Gas bill is higher


This problem is self created by Sindh

However Today Unfortunately such flexibility and cooperation does not exist between PPP and Karachi Seat winners, like it did during Musharraf Era
