Thats not true, India has seen that victory in 1971 in east pakistan was encirclement of the area to capture it. India is trying the same tactic against Pakistan through Afghanistan and Iran.

US came much later into the picture after 9/11

After 1989 ; when the Soviets were defeated ; till 9/11 ;
It was Pakistan which was calling all the shots in Afghanistan

But it has been 15 Years since 9/11

We don't, we want a friendly government in place.

AND why does Afghanistan NOT TRUST Pakistan

They have hated us since our independence, they were the only country to vote against recognising us at the UN in 1947. Since then they've tried numerous times to invade and sponsor terrorists in the bordering regions, even as early as the 50's PAF was bombing terrorist safe havens in Afghanistan.

All of this because of their stupid obsession with the British creating a border splitting 'their precious land', so as long as Afghans refuse to recognise the Durand line then there will never be peace. They cant just claim half of our territory, sponsor terrorists, and act in a hostile manner towards us.

It was another miscalculation on Pakistan's part, who assumed that once USA was done in Afghanistan, it would get a ready made proxy army to use against India, not realizing that its games would end up with USA cozying up to India instead.

Irrespective of who cozies up with whom, you dont simply burn and make your neighborhood unstable. Its common sense that instability & uncertainty will decrease economic growth. Not to mention the precious resources that will be diverted up for such actions & policy.
