Foreign minister set to file complaint over repeated violations by Israel.

Lebanon's foreign minister is set to to file a complaint with the UN over Israeli violations of his country's airspace.

The Israeli air force has intensified low-flying sorties over Lebanese airspace including Beirut, Lebanese security officials said on Sunday.

Lebanon's National News Agency reported that warplanes flew over southern Lebanon, Beirut, the eastern Bekaa Valley and the city of Baalbek.

Last month the UN called on Israel to stop increased military air patrols over Lebanon after two Israeli air attacks on Syria.

Israeli warplanes regularly enter Lebanese airspace, but a Lebanese security official told the AP news agency that the Sunday overflights were among the most intense recently.

There was no immediate comment from Israel.

The flights come amid heightened regional tensions because of the civil war in Syria. Israel is believed to have carried out three airstrikes inside Syria this year reportedly aimed at weapons meant for the Lebanese Hezbollah.

Israel is ensuring security by violating airspace of Lebanon , nothing serious

Yes, let us imagine what would happen if there was no Hezballah.
*looks to the east* Jordan and Israel are working together for a better future for both, Israel has not breached Jordanian sovereignty.
*looks to the south east* Egypt, again a country who's skies haven't seen an Israeli fighter plane for decades.

*takes a look north* Lebanon under the defense of mighty Hezballah has it's sovereignty breached daily.

I think there is a lesson in all this, wish I knew what it was :raise:

Imagine if there is no Hezbullah, what will happen to Lebanon? Israel is a terrorist and illegal state.

If there was no Hezbullah then Lebanon would be a stable state who could get on their feet, have a functioning military, and good relations with israel = no threat of war.

Hezbullah is only working against the interest of the Lebanese people

There were discussions about Hezbollah entering the Lebanon army to stop Hezbollah military .
Clearly with what is happening in Syria this is not possible before a long time.

As well you should think : what is the Lebanon army? not efficient at all.
that's why Hezbollah is still popular in Lebanon.

So it works the other way : Lebanon stable and strong army => Hezbollah army will disappear.

Here are the explanations from a Lebanese (christian) on a French website:

translation:
In 2006 they discussed Hezbollah to enter the Lebanese army (government). But then they had to discuss about who is leading them in the army. They then spoke about a special brigade which would semi-independant...

To make it simple ... March 8 alliance is pro army and defends their actions (especially block of Michel Aoun but as well Hezbollah). Christian from March14 Alliance have about the same behavior (especially Kataeb from Gemayel but less the FL from geagea).
Future Movement is the one criticizing the most the Lebanese army and which didn't support it (for exemple during sunni imam arrests, when one was forcing a police checkpoint). For this movement it would be very bad to see Hezbollah enter the army since they would be scared the Lebanon army would be even more close to the March 8 movement.

Tripoli is majority sunni and very much pro Future Movement, so they don't accept the Lebanon Army entering the streets . So you can imagine if Hezbollah would enter the streets

@Awesome @Aeronaut @ANTIBODY @nuclearpak Please explain to me what prevents us to file a complaint with the UN over violations of our airspace by USA with drones? Why don't we file a complaint too?

If this was the case and Israel was so friendly then why did it invade Lebanon in 1982? If Lebanon was able to defend itself then how was Israel able to invade?

Since when Israel or the Zionist state been friendly to Arabs?

We dont as we have allowed US to invade our airspace. If US is not allowed, it will never do it. The show is for public only. To make powerful and hollow statements to appease the public.

I don't know about that. Lebanon's government even before Hezbollah has always resisted co-operating with Israel, look around at all the neighbouring countries near Israel who have opposed them and their godfather, the US. You really think Israel wouldn't take the chance to occupy Lebanon once again, they did it before they sure as hell can do it again. Without Hezbollah, the Lebanese people would be speaking Hebrew.

BS,Lebanon would become a paradise.
Lebanon was an example of how people of different ethnic groups could live with each other in peace untill your terrorist Hezbollah and some terrorist groups came.
If no Hezbollah,Israel wouldnt care about Lebanon.
Instead of using excuses to hate Israel, just say I hate Israel.

I object to 'your terrorist' comment here.

Remember 1982? Beirut was the Paris of the East. Who incited civil war? Not Hezbullah of course. Hezbullah was the creation of civil war and Israeli occupation of Lebanon.
