Gandhi foremost believed in freedom from oppression, and to that effect he ripped apart the British empire. Jinnah believed in freedom from oppression for the muslims in the sub-continent, and to that effect he played a part in ripping apart "India".

Atleast the whole of Brtish India believed in Gandhi, but only a part of muslims from British India believed in Jinnah. Big difference, Jinnah could not convince ALL of the muslims for the cause he believed in.

Is freedom from oppression more important than unity? Gandhi's actions speak louder than his words.
