The country's foreign ministers are meeting on August 15.

Ramil Hasanov, the Azerbaijani secretary-general of the parliamentary assembly of the Turkic-speaking countries, said the summit was expected to discuss the potential formation of a free-trade zone among the member states.

The grouping is devoted to preserving the language and culture of Turkic-speaking countries and promoting political, economic, and cultural cooperation.

President of Turkmenistan and Turkish Prime Minister inaugurate project on construction of new Caspian Sea port

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan held talks in the city of Turkmenbashi, where the Turkish Prime was on a working visit.

The Turkmen leader and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey discussed bilateral cooperation in trade and economic sphere with a focus on the textile industry, power generating industry, oil and gas and construction sector, transport and communications sector, agriculture and tourism. The sides noted that construction of modern port infrastructure in Turkmenistan opens up greater opportunities for partnership.

After the talks, the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey attended a ceremony of launching a new major infrastructure project on construction of the International Sea Port of the city of Turkmenbashi. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Recep Tayyip Erdogan made statements at the ceremony.

The President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Turkey praised the new joint project. In their statements, the sides stressed that the new seaport on the Caspian Sea will become an important link in the modern transport infrastructure that will bring economic and trade cooperation between Asia and Europe to a new level, give a powerful impetus to development of inter-regional relations in the long term and will open up many opportunities to increase the traffic flow in the Eurasian space.

The project of new international seaport in the city of Turkmenbashi provides for construction of ferry, passenger and container terminals. The seaport complex will have a general loading terminal, bulk cargo terminal, as well as ship building and repair yard. The total area of the multifunctional seaport exceeds 1 million 200 thousand square meters.

The total length of the mooring line will be 3,000 607 meters. In addition to construction of docks, there will be also built numerous coastal facilities, including facilities for transportation services, such as 2,200-meter long highways with elevated interchanges and 5300-meter long railway lines.

Construction of the new international seaport should be completed in 48 months. Seven major companies specializing in this field participated in an international tender on design and implementation of the project. According to the results of the tender, the contract has been awarded to Turkish company “Gap Inşaat” as the general contractor of the project.

At the ceremony of laying the foundation of the seaport, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave a symbolic start to construction work.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey visited Yacht Club “Ýelken” (Sail), which was commissioned in the Caspian Sea resort of Turkmenistan this summer. An official dinner was given on behalf of the Turkmen President. Following the dinner, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey wrapped up his working visit and departed from the International Airport of the city of Turkmenbashi.

It was obvious that Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are absent. By the way I don't think that these totalitarian countries will ever take part in a Turkic union whether it be military or economically

They are not members of the Turkic Council for the time being.

I know Turkmenistan has border disputes with Azerbaijan over the Hazar sea but what the hell's wrong with Uzbekistan?

Not only with them they also have beef with Ahiskas and everyother Turkic state there.

thats why all of these turkic states should choose a new a khan to solve disputes and to being a union like in the past such as bumin khan(founder of 1.gokturk empire ) ,kutluk kağan(founder of 2. gokturk empire) er

tayyip erdogan can not be khan because he is member of muslim brotherhood and defends muslim union
i think there is 2 candidate for khan also to unite all of these turkic peoples
the most powerfull candidate is rabia kadeer from east turkistan
the second candidate is Rustam minnikhanov from tataristan

Whats ironic is to see Turkish - Erdogan going around turkish speaking muslim countires forging allegiances and at the same time helping destroy the very fabrics of a secular state such as arab Syria. What is he all about?

@T-123456 @Neptune - Why wasn't I invited ? :pissed:

I've been forced to see enough Turkish Soap Operas by my Mom & Sisters that I could be considered an Honorary Turk too !

Now that is cute. Buddy, these Turks take their ethnic business seriously. Notice @tesla disqualifying Recep Erodogan from being a supreme Khan. You are not even Banaspati (fake) Khan. You have no chance man. You do not have the genes.

Better go to Gwal Mandi and have some Siri Paye to soothe your achy-breaky heart.
