So far BVR-LGB trail is pending, they are going to do next round of trails in May-June. Hope everything will work as expected.
By this year end, it should be ready for induction.
LGBs were tested, I think BVR and in this case Derby is still left for integration and testing. However, that can be done after induction into operational service too, so shouldn't be an issue unless IAF keeps the policy to induct a fully capable LCA only.
Saraswat says that all problems encountered by the IAF during the IOC last year have been solved, which seems odd as one of the main problems was the AoA which afaik still remains unsolved. Maybe he means that the LSP 7 & 8 will be handed over to the IAF for user trials this year.
AoA was never a real issue, goal was 24°, IOC achived 22° and with the new FCS they even expect 26 to 28° if I remember correctly. LSP 6 should do the new set of AoA tests to finally deal with this issue, but the bigger problem were drag and weight. To achieve the speed, TWR and manouverability goals, there is no other option than integrating a more powerful engine, unless they find a way to dramatically reduce the weight of MK1, which doesn't seem to be possible.
