Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest paid tributes to the martyrs and living legends of Army Aviation for their outstanding achievements during war and peace and congratulated the history compilation team headed by Major General Muhammad Azam (Retired) for production of this historical account. The Colonel Commandant of Army Aviation, Major General Waqar Ahmad Kingravi also lauded the efforts of all those who contributed towards the completion of this land mark historical account. He also spoke the future development plans of this vital Corps of Pakistan Army and exhorted the present and future leader of the Corps of continue working with the same zeal and enthusiasm to ensure success in future also. The book presents a canvas depicting the development of Pakistan Army Aviation into a potent component of Pakistan Armed Forces during last six decades. Large scale induction of helicopters, coupled with raising new squadrons has transformed this fledgling Corps into a lethal hard hitting war machine. In addition to providing a strategic punch to the land forces, tremendous flexibility of employment makes this arm effective during peace as well as in war.

The pictorial mosaic illustrates sacrifices of Pakistan Army Aviators at Siachin, the highest battle field of the world, during Kargil and Operation Life Line (Earthquake-2005) and all other natural calamities besides continuous contribution in internal security operations.

The book also exhibits historical pictures, maps and interviews of experienced senior and old Aviators.

Well, this WoT did get it's toll over Army Aviation. AA was kinda 'easy' job previously, but since this war it became as challenging as any other arm (not saying that flying itself is not demanding).

The guud thing is that there was no shortage of volunteers for AA since the intake went high manifold, though the volunteers knew that they would be facing tough time after they complete their training.

AA has proved its metal in every sphere - may it be relief duties or high altitude flying at Siachen or the current war, they have come out successful in every challenge.

Their sacrifices have been immense and we do owe them alot.

The AA have gained lots of valuable experience to include night flying and combat flying and i am sure this would come handy in any future conflict.

Buck up Aviators!!
