Laser Reasearch of 100 KW class to down UAV on Fast Track.

It has been developed few years ago after that the core issues are beam alignment and target acquisition by combination of small AESA radar and electro-optical sensor for small target tracking and designations.

But in 2014 they have made significant progress. Waiting for a test anytime.

Recently, India also tested a laser
ballistic missile defense system.
The laser weapon is capable of
producing 25-kw pulses that can
destroy a ballistic missile at a
range of 7 km (4 mi.). One of
these weapons is the air defense
dazzler, which can engage
enemy aircraft and helicopters at
a range of 10 km.

No it has been developed, what Dr Chander is talking about a whole new game. They build a whole new lab for DEW weapons. This is for very high power laser like 100 kw.

So world is going in STARWARS Laser Warfare; plz also see 6th Gen fighters in wikipedia, US going to get Laser weapons for its six gen fighters.

yeap Rus told they will use carbon nano tubes in building fighters in future; and in su-35 titanium composite alloy used which have reduced weight of sukhoi. and also radar signature by some extent.

But the main system for destroying UAV, cruise missile, fighters, choppers is 25 KW system already developed and under testing.

Now they are developing this new 100 KW solid state laser.

Can you please provide the link of That 25 KW system?

Don't you guys think its a very expensive platform to bring down a UAV???

I had read one article which stated that Laser can bring down UAV at an operational cost of 1 USD.
