At the end of this June, the Italian fashion company 'Teddy' is going to give a big work order in the garment sector of Bangladesh.
A press release from the Bangladesh Embassy in Italy on Thursday (June 17th) night revealed this possibility.
According to the report, Italian fashion company Teddy Group has pledged to stand by Bangladesh during the coronavirus epidemic. They made the promise during a recent video conference with the Bangladesh Embassy in Rome.
The company also said that none of their work orders were suspended or canceled during the epidemic. Moreover, they are assured that their work order will continue as long as the existing work environment is maintained. The company's representatives informed the embassy that a large amount of work order was being issued in Bangladesh later this month.
However, they said the work order could be slightly lower than in the same season last year due to declining global demand. Representatives of Teddy Group also hope that the work order will return to normal in the next three or four months when the situation returns to normal.
Founded in 1981, Teddy Group is now one of the top fashion companies in Italy. They have six brands, including Terranova, Calylop and Rinseminito, and more than 600 stores in 40 countries around the world. Bangladesh is Teddy's top business center. The company imports about ২০০ 200 million worth of ready-made garments from Bangladesh every year. They set up an office in Bangladesh in 2004 where there are currently 40 people working, including two Italians.
