Lahore Tree Massacre !!

It started happening as soon as the HC decision was heard, the very night they came with their tools, started cutting down the trees...And by now a large number of tree have been shopped down, they say they will clean this "mess" in 2 weeks time...

Lahore was once home to gardens, called city of gardens, yet hardly any historic garden is preserved...

It is not the first time that Lahore is facing this tree massacre, I am glad that A. Hameed is not alive to see this, the guy who cried in his articles when one such massacre took place on Mall road, and the other on Davis Road which was once heavenly covered by trees on both sides and it appeared as if you are passing through the passage to heaven....

Yes Sundardas road *( thandi sarak) now hardly to be called so...

and how can one forget what they did to Lahore Zoo? just to carve his CM house, he shopped down hundred year old trees in great number...

now Canal road facing the same tree massacre, the green belt will be reduced half to its current width from both sides...and the road lanes built instead so that you can drive your new and fast cars on 100 miles per hour speed !!

this alone shows the mentality of rulers.. !!

Am i being dim but dont trees that are really order have preservation orders in Pakistan. In our garden we have about 12 trees we are not allowed to cut as they are listed and have an order in place

I was really amazed at the decision by HC and they quickness of authorities to start cutting tree which themselves worth in millions of rupees... the Lahore preservation movement was not even given a day to appeal against the decision...

Was probably rishvath involved? It really is annoying because it may take a couple of generations to get to the same tree back. Guess its not important enough to them bro
