There is a plan for M4 (from Faisalabad to Multan), M5(From Multan to somewhere I forgot lol), M7 (From Somewhere I forgot to Karachi), M6 (From Somewhere I forgot to Gawadar) and M8 (from Karachi to Hyderabad). I pray the next government who ever comes don't dismiss this project. This is very health project. Musharaf/BB delaying M1 & M3 already hurt v bad... We would have Silk Road touching Gawadar by now.. but.. oh well..

Of course underground metro is a great option but only worrying factor is the lack of funds you know. We have a underground metro project pending since many years and each line is supposed to cost over a billion dollar. All 4 lines of Lahore Metro would cost 6-10 billion dollars I can't remember.
But the bottom line is, This project is costing 22 billion rupees meaning about 0.25 billion dollars only. So 0.25 billion versus 6 billion dollars --- Which project would you choose first considering the lack of resources and investment?
We can have metro as well once the situation is better in Pakistan and we have more resources available in the country. People do not have electricity in their homes and starting a metro project would have attracted a lot of criticism. Such projects are viable and very profitable when the other basic demands are being met in the country.
