On a side note...speaking of "Takhti" style Urdu, as a child I had bad handwriting and so I was taught that kind of "Takhti writing" with the whole "Takhti" and "Qalam" thing

The real reason for our moral decadence is ignoring The Holy Quran. Unfortunately we either read it blindly without understanding it or don't deeply think about it. I can show some of the rudest people on the planet who are urdu medium from start the grad school and I can show some of the politest people on the planet who are westerners and are converts to Islam who have made The Quran their daily read.

The interesting thing about The Quran is that while you consciously ponder on any given chapter or even a few verses, The Quran subconciously starts grooming your personality...

Wisdom makes one polite, and Quran is the only book of wisdom.

Current and past generation learnt to read Quran and that's it. Outcome is in front of all - confused and angry people abound.

What @I.R.A says about Urdu has merit too but that imho really comes into effect when the Urdu speaker also reflects on what Allah says in Quran.

Actually, the only thing that destroyed the moral fabric of the Pakistani community is "Jealousy, Hate, Lack of patience and a desire to have everything that the other person has. And if they his unable to do so, they start to come up with different reasons to hate that person. Hasad and na shukri. This roman urdu trend on smart phones and chats has destroyed the actual values of the Urdu language.
Nowadays youngsters can't even speak proper Urdu or write it.

Indeed, let us start with every one in the political circle; they put in literally most english words because they have not learnt the language at all at school. It is now a hodge podge; the rational, because most of the words they will switch are farsi origin if they have schooled they would have used fine.
++ I speak fluently and can read and write 6 international languages. Farsi is one language i am still learning for a few years and from there can derive it to Urdu/Dari.
Same is happening to Indian with their bastardisation of Hindi - when they speak firstly tone and indendation is just a flood gate has opened open and 70% of the words will be English - Hinglish - Blxm.... speak English then.......

The beautify of each language is to speak it for its very essence. Is it fashion or just pure ignorance of a beauty of a language. I see this polution across GCC as well but very happy to see in my travel to Iran how beautifully languages there continue to evolve and there are dedicated schools to ensure they evolve.

When i asked where to listen daily for true Urdu for news as I get several TV channels on C-band/Ku Band; they most have hodge podge with English mixtures. The reply was BBC.

And please do not equate Urdu and Hindi; the later i cannot even understand 1 iota of what is said on BBC Hindi service.

Urdu may not have even existed at the time of advent of Islam but in Mughal period of India whose official language was Persian

Yes we speak Farsi ,Urdu & Arabic .
Most of Alama Iqbals RA, poetry,nazm are in Farsi.

No, you do NOT. I have met many Pakistani mullahs/preachers even huffaaz (majority of whom do not know meaning of what they recite) who neither speak nor understand conversational Farsi or Arabic.

And Sir Muhammad Iqbal arrived more than a millennium after Prophet Muhammad

I already told u ,speaking in Urdu doesnt mean,
to demean or neglect other languges.

Yes many of my older family members can speak , write & read in Farsi ,
They can read Arabic ,cannot speak in Arabic.

Topic here is Urdu,

Have an open mind & watch the video .
It might clear your dislike or misconceptions about Urdu.

I gave an argument why Urdu is compassionate , emotional ,poetic ,language.
It doesnt mean, other languages aren't.

Im in no way telling to neglect other languges ,
