KP Police culture better than Punjab: IG Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera

IG Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera said that due to the egalitarian culture of Baluchistan and KP, the police system is much better there than in Punjab and Sindh, where the culture is heavily influenced by the old Hindu caste system.

He was talking to Salem Safi in a show on a local TV channel. He said that society determines the general behaviour of people and that people in Punjab are exposed to rude and disrespectful behaviour right from the beginning.(what a jerk,blames culture for his own incompetencies)

He also said that the police system of Punjab and Sindh cannot be compared to the systems of Baluchistan and KP due to the vast culture differences.

He further added that country to popular beliefs, Punjab does not have any militant recruiting centre and that Punjab Police has eradicated extremism in Punjab.

What might be the reasons for this. Once the KPK policemen (Under ANP) were giving ads in newspapers that they had quit the police force and taliban should not attack them. This was the case mostly in Swat. Is PTI that good that it has changed the situation so quickly? Is there more independence and less political control of police in KPK? It could be a sign that PTI is making progress for the country.

It happened in Swat. During Fazlullah's rule. I searched for the article and as it is old, couldn't find it. They got very powerful there once upon a time. Army cleared the area in operation Black Thunderstorm. Good riddance, eh?

Pakistani policemen losing the fight against terrorism was the title. It also had shocking details about how the Taliban paid their dead (suicide bombers) more than the KPK police paid its fallen and how each fighter had a salary higher than that of a Pakistani policemen. Surprising info and a view into the possible fact that foreign nations were helping and supplying the TTP with funds, weaponry and training.

A gentleman in my wife's family has served both in the Punjab and KPK Police forces (he is currently an SSP and currently posted in Peshawar.)

He reports that the culture difference is huge and it mainly comes down to one thing: lack of political interference by the PTI, leaving the police to do its actual rather than chase after every two-bit "VIP's" demands.

It means PTI claims regarding reforms in police system of KPK are real. If they are given chance in Punjab I think they do better. However PMLN is trying to reform punjab police. Apparently change in uniform is one indication. Lets see
