KOREAN GROUP SHOWS INTEREST TO INSTALL 100MW SOLAR POWER PLANT NEAR KARACHI

100 mw per hour or 100,000 kwh . Actually it is a name plate capacity.

Efficiency/plant factor is around 16-18% as sun does not shine 24/7 so depending upon area actual production is 16-19 mwh.
Its not written, It could be per hour, per day, per week, per year and even decade, how can we know?

Good - lets hope it doesn't become again one of those toooooo expensive projects due to somebody's pockets have to be filled.
The system for electricity transmission can not hold anything above 18000MW i think. How will all of this energy being produced be utilized then? there is a dire need for system upgradation, that alone will put 3000MW of wasted energy back into the system.

Besides, all the investment in our economy is merely in the energy sector. There is no focus on any other industry. Who will use all of this energy without any industrial development.

Lack of proper planning by government, as expected.

Whenever any company shows interest to invest in Sindh province of Pakistan, I always doubt the authenticity of news or the level of interest for the said company. They might be giving general statement to keep the formal discussion alive but from what I have seen since past 15-20 years of politics, The projects where Koreans or Japanese showed interest in 2002 are still to be completed in 2016.

I agree that the system needs upgrading which will take time and investment.
The quick fix (short term fix only) is to setup the power plants near the load centers to save on transmission losses as well as setting up new transmission lines etc. The current government is setting up power plants near load centers i.e. (Lahore, Sahiwal, Karachi etc).
