I realize there is love hate and envy against Chinese in SE Asia.

One of the main reason is China went down the drain for the past 160 years. Now China is back. The SE Asians and non Chinese NE Asians need to adjust.

You are being too sensitive and paranoid lol. East Asia refers to geography, so that's why Vietnam, located in Southeast Asia, is usually excluded. Don't mix geography and culture up. If you're referring to the the cultural region, it's actually called the 'Sinosphere', based on a common Confucian + Hanzi heritage.

Anyway, no one is saying Vietnam is not part of the Sinosphere. But you of all people should know there are marked cultural gradations in Vietnam. Northern Vietnam is a lot more Confucian than Southern Vietnam, which has a more Khmer Jungle flavor.

I don't 'hate' China at all. I may not agree with the CPC, but I think most Japanese will agree that Chinese are a hardy , reliable stock. Besides, Chinese women make great wives and mothers.

Its true, Chinese mothers are very affectionate. Even my one ABC (American born chinese) friend, tho he is married (the guy is a dentist, btw) he is so close to his mom. I never seen a guy that is 32 call his mother "Mommy" still, lol. His mom goes to his work for lunch and bring him home cooked food. Anyways, yea, the point is Chinese moms, in general, are very doting, loving.

They sacrifice their lives even for their kids, if have to.
