I've seen the whole film together with people of faith, they didn't find it offensive, rather hilarious. It's comedy.
The academic point is to highlight the position of a dictator in the public mind.
'people of faith'.
were they north-korean leadership class too? coz only that would count.
and even IF they were, that's not how i imagine the NK leadership class as a whole to see this particular "humor".
what you see as hilarious, others in the world see as reason to (prepare for) (more) kill(ing).
you might wanna just take that as truth from me based on what happened at Hebdo offices by muslim warriors after years upon years of public warnings.
Same goes for that moron Theo van Gogh who thought he was funny by insulting the Prophet Mohammed with the same bullshit[1] joke over and over again.
[1] bullshit when seen in the true historical relativity to today's world.
back in the dark ages and the periods before then, it was apparently common for rich muslims in muslim lands to marry very young girls from financially poor families.
you just don't go making jokes about that, because it is like throwing gasoline on a fire made of ethnic tensions.
same thing over here, with you posting something you and your friends over in the UK may find hilarious,
but which i very much doubt is appreciated as humor by any NK leadership class member, young or old.
it's more likely seen as hatemongering or worse against their leadership.
and while the NKs are fortunately not into international terrorism, you still might want to avoid increasing international tensions between nuclear armed powers, by shoving what
you and your friends find "hilarious" into everyone's face on a forum like this (read by Asians over in Asia, as well as people from all over the rest of the world).
this is not the BBC, this forum.
nor is it a pub in the UK,
get it?
